Was McCaleb right to keep Buddy at a distance from the investigation? Could he have helped him?

Yes, I think McCaleb is right to keep Buddy away from the business end of the investigation. Buddy does not realise the seriousness of what McCaleb is doing, he has a romanticised view of the work of a PI - too many crime novels read (why does that sound familiar…? ☺️) - and unaware of the danger that may be attached.

If I’m being honest, I’d say McCaleb might even by putting buddy in harm’s way simply by using him as a driver.

Yes...Buddy is fascinated with the idea of the work of a P.I. Like >2 Sergeirocks: said...glamorized by too many true crime novels.

Yes McCaleb needs to keep Buddy at a distance. He is only a driver and should be left as such.
