Why do you think they froze out McCaleb? Were you surprised by this?

I wasn’t expecting this. Now McCaleb will have to go rogue.
I’m not sure of the reason for freezing him out, seeing as all the new stuff they now have is down to his investigating. They’d have still been stalled in two separate investigations if not for him.
Arrango will be ecstatic.

This made no sense to me. Seems like a vindictive move, but I can't imagine why.

I think they were upset about all he was bringing forth and a bit jealous of his successes.

I think the FBI was doing what they do. Compartmentalizing everything and keeping the case on a need to know basis. Now that the 2 murders have been linked to one of their high profile cases, they will try to take over the investigation of all 3. I suspect they will freeze out the LAPD and sheriff’s dept as soon as possible
