Any further idea what is going on between Roxanne and Ellie, following Roxanne buying clothes for her? Why do you think Roxanne keeps checking her phone?

I wondered if Roxanne could be a groomer for Kai Lord. After awhile she will guilt Ellie into "paying her back" by turning her into a prostitute.

She's "dressing her". Roxanne is going to soon be joining Kai's people.

Definitely grooming. It was noticeable that the clothing Roxanne foisted on Ellie was all very ‘little-girlish’ - what else could it be, other than preparing Ellie for presentation to the unknown man in the BMW, (who is presumably a big source of income for Lord)?
If I’m correct, Roxanne is checking her phone for a message from Lord to say he’s ready for Ellie. I’d think it’ll be tricky keeping the girl occupied for long before she starts wanting to go home, or the mother reports her daughter as missing. Ellie will eventually begin to smell a rat, (at least I hope she will).

I agree with you all. Roxanne is a finder for Kai Lord. I don’t see Ellie discovering the truth until it’s too late. I hope Kim or the police can rescue her before it’s too late.
