If Kelly was going to bounce would this give Kai Lord a reason to be the murderer? Do you think it’s likely to be him?

It almost seems too obvious to be him. It makes more sense for him to threaten her to stay with him than kill her. I don't think he would want to lose the income.

He's in a "business" and he needs these girls to continue to make money. I agree with >2 Olivermagnus:. He would just make threats, not kill his one of his "golden geese".

I don't believe, Kai, as their pimp, would kill one of his "money makers", but he would certainly not hesitate to threaten them. Afterall, he's got to keep them in line.

Could one of his minions have gone too far. If Kai suspected that she was leaving him he may have ordered some violence to frighten her

He might be annoyed that one of his women wanted to leave him, but as long as he got a good price for the deal, I don’t think he’d go to the bother of killing her - maybe just have her roughed up before she left.
I don’t think he had her killed. If he had, I think the job would have been cleaner, more precise - Kelly’s multiple stabbings look to me to be frenzied. But, I might be wrong…

I can’t see Kai Lord as the killer, you don’t kill the golden goose. There would have been payback in pain and a beating up as others have said. Also don’t think he or his minions would kill just after a deal had gone down. It would have been well away from the business.

No, he’s not likely to kill one of his employees just for wanting to bounce. The pimps make a deal when that happens, so it’s still profitable to him. Kill her after the deal and he’ll get a bad reputation amongst his fellow pimps. He’d only kill her if she had some information couldput him on hot water.
