Where's my hunt notification banner?

I just noticed mine is missing for the 20th Birthday Hunt. I don't have any badges at all, and that was the first one I participated in. I also just finished the Halloween Treasure Hunt 2025 and don't have one for that. I'm running Mac OS 15.6.1 (24G90) and using Safari 18.6 (20621.3.11.11.3)

I was just actually coming here to ask about this

Badges have not yet been awarded for the birthday hunt (or for any other hunt for this year). (Please see the Treasure Hunt badge thread for a list of badges that have been awarded.)

This thread is for missing hunt banners ie the banner at the top of the page that notifies you of the hunt (ie the one for the Hallowe'en Hunt says '🎃 Come join our Halloween Treasure Hunt!' with a 'dismiss' button on the right).

Some people have not been seeing the banner; some people dismissed it and have not got it since then. This thread is to collate those issues.

I did not see a banner. Android, chrome, everything recently updated.

I deleted my Dismiss by accident and sent a message to Abigail. They put it back for me.

This always works for me: Turn off your computer. Wait 5 seconds. Reboot, and re-log into Librarything.

I have definitely rebooted my computer since the last time the banner wasn't showing up, and it still isn't showing up, so I don't think that's likely to fix it for me.

This is the first time that I have never gotten a banner for a treasure hunt. I had avoided dismissing the hunt banner, because I knew people didn't get it once they dismissed it. Supposedly the problem was fixed a few months ago. But the banner never disappeared after the Halloween hunt was complete, so I finally dismissed it then. I have *not* gotten a banner about the new Winter hunt and only became aware of it because of the State of the Thing. Can someone make a permanent fix for this problem?

And yes, I dismissed the banner for the first time after the 2025 Halloween hunt was over and the banner for that hunt never went away on its own as all previous hunt banners had done

Oh, no banner again. :-( I was looking for the SantaThing arrivals thread and found this. Glad I found this, though. And it's nice to have extra time, so hopefully I'll do better than I have on the last few.

But the problem was supposed to have been solved a few months ago. Then the hunt banner never went away after the Halloween hunt, so I finally dismissed it. I only dismissed the banner because it didn't go away after one hunt, and this problem had been reported as fixed, so I thought it was safe to dismiss the banner. Apparently not. Still not getting a banner. Rebooting still has not helped. Banner shows up in a private window but disappears when I log in.

I assume the 'dismiss' action must be stored as a setting somewhere on one's account. Perhaps there is a way to reset this after each hunt is over?

But then again, if it were that simple a fix, I'm sure it would have been fixed already.

I am delighted to discover today that the treasure hunt notification banner has reappeared today. Thank you to whoever is responsible! And I won't dismiss it this time, even if it hangs around after the hunt is complete.

Haha, I had the banner, too, this morning. I already finished the hunt, but I'm glad the banner is back. :)
