Jack-o-lantern 7

A century of titles, but not in years,
This (list) of books to bring forth your fears,
Compiled by our friends in public media,
Lots of titles, though not quite a cyclopedia.

(Abigail)

15 AnnieMod : Tip: #7: Not a list even if it also exists as a list!

16 Aquila : Aha! The other lists. Thank you.

51 JBD1 : For #7, "list" may be leading you down the garden path. It certainly did me for a while.

54 JBD1 : Try another area that could be thought of as a list. I got it by searching for a well-known American public media initialism and then narrowing by category ...

59 alexyskwan : The group with the initials has the word "public" in it; it supposedly reaches the whole country; and the format of how the content is sent out started back in the 1900s. Can perhaps be seen as the BBC of the US.

55 raidergirl3 : for #7 one might say that the station 'awarded' the books on the list.

Think of an American media organization recently subject to budget cuts.

118 Yamanekotei : It is not PBS, but try a station similar to that.

119 NinieB : #7 Not TV but . . .; and think about another common form of list (but not a list) on LT.

140 closer : #7 I used a search first by using the number in the first line of the clue, along with the second noun in line two, along with the adjective that describes books that 'bring forth your fears'. That brought me to a page of lists. In the left-hand column, I scrolled down and clicked on awards. That narrowed the lists to four for me. Only two in that list were the best fit for the clue. I clicked on one that fit the clue. Once that opened, I looked to the far right column and scrolled down to find the type of media organization.

Remember that 'lists' is often code for 'awards' in the LT Treasure Hunts.

203 SandraArdnas : #7 search for NPR and then filter awards on the left

>6 humouress: Thank you. I was losing my mind (turns out as a non-American I was completely unable to identify the channel).
