Not sure if this has been posted before.
I'm going to say...yes, unless that's an Earthman in front and he's chosen to bring a very silly axe to a Forgotten Science fight.

The science doesn't include how to treat exophthalmos.

So the Terrans have the dude from Zardoz, Doctor Doom, and Barbarella, and the Martians have the little green guy? No contest, I’d say!

Are all of these Martians? I just noticed there's another popping eye next to Doom's cowl. So bug eyes seem to be the rule on any species of Mars.
For all we know, the forgotten science includes how to build parade floats and they're celebrating Martian Thanksgiving.
(thanks for the Zardoz ID)

Vincent Price sought his way off the cover illustration, embarrassed by his Zardoz costume and the silly beard that his contract had required him to grow. "I must axe you a question!" would be the first thing he said to his agent once he found his way back to Earth.

>4 NomadUK: Most Martians are largely identical to humans in this setting - Brackett is doing Planetary Romance in the Burroughs tradition, if with fewer absurd coincidences.

The actual story in the text of this book is a good one, particularly if you like Space Opera type of adventure SciFi. The cover does not do the actual tale much credit, probably like most of the goofy pictures featured here.

Meanwhile, Don Quixote says, "I'll be in the back - if you need me..."
Also, is that uppermost right-hand tower flipping everyone off? Or is it merely pointing out what a great price is on offer?

If you look at the biggest tower on the left, the windows in it are placed so as to look like eyes, so it must be a living castle saying "f you, Terrans!"
