I am really not enjoying the last two paperback covers of this trilogy, but today I bought book 3 anyway: The Voyage Home by Pat Barker (historical fiction). My copy of the first book, The Silence of the Girls, has the blue cover instead of the cartoonish style of the last two.

I resisted an ARC until I saw another with a cover I couldn't resist. Then I decided if I was taking one I might as well take the other, too.
The ARCs:
* The Age of Calamities: Stories by Senaa Ahmed (pub 1/26; short story collection)
* _Akiko's Quiet Happiness_ by Jan-Philipp Sendker (pub 1/26; first in a contemporary fiction trilogy)

Spent money.
I blame BookTube for Briefly, a Delicious Life by Nell Stevens.
And I blame PBS for Cher Ami and Major Whittlesey by Kathleen Rooney and for The American Revolution: A Film by Ken Burns.
The Rooney book, I had once ordered a bunch in for a historical fiction table. But watching "American Heart in WWI" reminded me of the story and made me finally buy it. I already have the nonfiction book Never in Finer Company by Edward Lengel. Somewhere.

>8 varielle: We've all done it. I once bought the same book 3x by accident -- two of the copies had deep discounts, & I guess I was just forgetting that I had it when I saw those stickers.
And: ooooh, Chateaubriand...
