I’m trying to read Little Dorrit but it’s an awful drag.

>1 amdial7: The obvious suggestion at this time of year is A Christmas Carol which is quite short and gets to the heart of Dickens humanity towards the poor while being a cracking ghost story to boot. He called David Copperfield his favourite child and, hasving re-read it recently, I found it as spell- binding as ever. The childhood scenes in particular are marvellously well done. Dickens had not forgotten how it felt to be a child. As a long time devotee of this writer's work I hope that you find something enjoyable to read in his canon.

Thanks for the tip! I may try it but it's so long, all of them are (lol). I wish we could read them serialized as back then. Maybe I should think of it that way when I read them...I might be onto something there. Happy reading.
