What Beastars is:
(Beastars is a Japanese manga and anime set in a world of anthropomorphic animals—predators and herbivores living together under a fragile social contract. On the surface, it looks like a high‑school drama with animals, but the story is really about identity, desire, prejudice, and the tension between instinct and morality.)

Now the roleplay:
Major Themes
Instinct vs. self‑control: Carnivores must constantly suppress natural urges.
Prejudice and fear: Species tension mirrors real‑world discrimination and social hierarchy.
Identity: Characters struggle with who they’re “supposed” to be versus who they are.
Power dynamics: Louis represents the elite herbivore class; predators often face suspicion regardless of behavior.

Tone and Style
Mature, introspective, symbolic
Mixes romance, thriller, dark drama, and slice‑of‑life
Uses animal species as metaphor for personality traits and social roles
Cherryton Academy (the school)

Type: Elite boarding school
Students: Mixed species, both carnivores and herbivores
Purpose: To train future leaders who will help maintain peace in a tense multi‑species society

Even though it’s supposed to be a model of harmony, the school constantly struggles with:

Species segregation
Fear of carnivores after the murder of an alpaca student
Strict rules about diet, dorm assignments, clubs, and nighttime behavior
There’s a lot of symbolism: Cherryton is like a miniature version of the entire world, showing that coexistence is fragile even in a controlled environment.

How Students Are Organized
1. Dorms
Carnivores and herbivores live in separate dorm buildings for safety.
Herbivores usually feel anxious around carnivores, and carnivores feel stigmatized and constantly watched.

2. Clubs and Departments
Clubs are extremely important because they group different species together.

Drama Club

The most prestigious club
Students compete fiercely for status
Louis (a deer) is the star actor
Legoshi (wolf) works backstage but becomes central to the story
The club is almost like a political stage—leadership here influences the whole school’s hierarchy

Other clubs exist too (gardening, art, athletics), but the drama club is the narrative core.

3. Classes
Students attend normal academic classes, but also species‑specific ones:

Biology and anatomy classes take on awkward meanings (e.g., predator physiology)
Food classes and lunches are tightly regulated since carnivores can’t eat meat
Social studies revolve around coexistence and ethics

Carnivores
Wolves, tigers, bears, dogs, lions, etc.
Strong, intimidating, constantly monitored
Often judged guilty just for existing
Internal conflict: instinct vs. morality

Aoba (peafowl carnivore group member) Market and Black Market
Students are not allowed to eat meat.
But the nearby Black Market illegally sells animal flesh, creating temptation and moral conflict—especially for carnivores like Legoshi.
Herbivores
Rabbits, deer, goats, sheep, alpacas, etc.
Physically vulnerable
Socially powerful in some ways (they set many rules)
Live in fear of being preyed upon but also use moral superiority as a shield

Els (goat)

Which it has a bunch of votes or the one about a chef that is a carnivore and serves meat but wants to learn to make stuff for herbivores. Called Chef Leaf. Or the one we did last year. Its gonna be secret kisses I bet.
