Even at one hour per day I still wasn't able to get close! Are you guys reading kids books? Skimming? How? Lol

>I read 55 this year. I'm retired. I probably read 2.5 hours a day, on average. Vision problems slow me down considerably. I used to do 80 books a year reading an hour to an hour and a half a day. Picture books help. I read a few every year. And children's books. But if I limited myself to 1 hour a day, I doubt I'd get more than 30 or 40 done.

>2 dash4cover: Completely reasonable. I don't feel so bad now. Thank you for sharing.

Even though I'm retired, I still don't get to read as much or as often as I'd like. I managed 49 books in 2025, and children's books were definitely part of the mix. In fact, it was almost half and half, adult/kiddie lit. I've always collected children's books, mainly for the artwork, but I love to read it, too.

I read snippets throughout the day and a fair bit at night. I also listen to audio books while I exercise or cook.

Not so good this year - only finished 29 books. In December I was reading a lot of short stories. You know, those in the Christmas mystery anthologies. Oh well :)

So close! I got to 46 this year. A couple of real chunksters did me in. Next year for sure!
