Hi everyone! I’m going to try to keep up with this this year.

( I’m typing on my phone, so not sure how to do the coding to link to books, etc., any help definitely appreciated!)

January
1. The Last Death of the Year by Sophie Hannah
2. The Vanishing Stair by Maureen Johnson
3. The Labyrinth House Murders by Yukito Ayatsuji

Welcome back! The square brackets are a bit hidden on the IOS keyboard, so press the ".?123" button, then the "#+=" button on your keyboard. If you have an Android, I don't know the exact keys, but should be similar.

(I use my iPad all the time for LT and you get used to it... 😀)

New Year greetings from Kuala Lumpur. My project is at least physically completed and an addition to the city scape.

Look forward to keeping up with you in 2026

2.The Vanishing Stair by Maureen Johnson
An audiobook carried over from 2025, this is part of a re read of my favorite YA mystery series.

Happy New Year! I liked that Maureen Johnson series as well, though I haven't read the fourth and fifth books yet, only the original trilogy.

>14 seasonsoflove: I've been reading a lot of Japanese literature in translation, but I don't think I've read anything by this author. I'll read the synopsis to see if I want to give it a try if I can easily find a library copy.

>15 scaifea: so cool! Yeah, the author is so good at writing these locked room/locked places mysteries.

>16 thornton37814: if you like it, the author has three more in translation right now.

Happy LT thread, Becca! Nice to see you giving it a go in ‘26.

Your reading year is off to another great start.

What are you reading to the furry Indy these days?

4. The Storm by Rachel Hawkins

Review here: https://thebookkeepersapprentice.blogspot.com/2026/01/arc-review-storm.html?m=1

5. We Solve Murders by Richard Osman

So much fun! I didn’t love it quite as much as his Thursday Murder Club series, but really enjoyed it. The characters are great.

Behind on my ARC reviews, so need to write the next one to post my next book.

6. The Murder at World’s End by Ross Montgomery
Review at my book blog here: https://thebookkeepersapprentice.blogspot.com/2026/01/arc-review-murder-at-world...

7. Greenwich Park by Katherine Faulkner
An interesting and mysterious take on love, motherhood, accountability, and what it means to be a woman. The overlying mystery and suspense are well done.

8. Game Changer by Rachel Reid
I watched Heated Rivalry in two days and immediately had to read the books. Great fun sweet read, I love Scott and Kip!

9. The Body in the Library by Agatha Christie
A wonderful re read for Read Christie 2026.

10. The Last Days of Marilyn Monroe by James Patterson and Imogen Edwards-Jones
Billed as a “true crime thriller”, this is a fascinating read.

11. Heated Rivalry by Rachel Reid
No question I love this book. Shane and Iliya are life.

12. The Hand on the Wall by Maureen Johnson
An audiobook re read of a favorite YA mystery, with a fantastically relatable heroine.

13. Definitely Maybe Not a Detective by Sarah Fox
Review on my book blog here: https://thebookkeepersapprentice.blogspot.com/2026/01/arc-review-definitely-mayb...

14. Forget Me Not by Stacy Willingham
I love her books, and this is no exception. Great build up to a surprising twist of an ending.

15. Tough Guy by Rachel Reid
Three for three with these books. No surprise here that I absolutely adored Ryan and Fabian.

16. Dead in the Water by John Marrs
I love anything Marrs writes, and this was another brilliant psychological suspense/thriller by him. The plot is harrowing and clever and so worth the read.

17. Dear Debbie by Freida McFadden
Another author I love everything by. Very clever and shocking twist at the end.

YES to Heated Rivalry!! I hurried to read the book before watching the show, adore them both, and now I need to get back to the series. I also need to read McFadden. She's so popular right now with our patrons and it would be good to know her stuff (plus I think I'd probably love it, too).

18. A Box Full of Darkness by Simone St. James
https://thebookkeepersapprentice.blogspot.com/2026/02/arc-review-box-full-of-dar...

19. The Box in the Woods by Maureen Johnson
A re-listen of a favorite, the Truly Devious series is brilliant.

20. Common Goal by Rachel Reid

Another great Game Changers book, with another fantastic couple! To say I’m obsessed with this series would be an understatement.

21. Fan Service by Rosie Danan
A very fun romance that imagines what would happen if the former star of a werewolf show turned into a werewolf himself-and needed the show’s (formerly) biggest fan’s help.

22. Role Model by Rachel Reid

I’m not sure how else to express my love for these books and these couples-another great book!

23. The Long Game by Rachel Reid

More Shane and Ilya!! My loves ❤️ Can’t wait until their next book comes out!

24. Mrs. McGinty’s Dead by Agatha Christie

Another excellent book from my favorite author!

25. Isolation Island by Louise Minchin

A thriller centered around a reality show, with a very surprising ending.

26. Crimes of the Century by Amber Hunter
A well-laid out look at different crimes and how they affected laws and regulations.

27. My Husband’s Wife by Alice Feeney

A unique and well-done thriller that seems impossible, but all comes together beautifully.

28. Six Stories by Matt Wesolowski

A re read of a favorite. A fictional podcast looking at a fictional cold case, so well done.

29. Nine Liars by Maureen Johnson

A listen to another favorite in the Stevie Bell world.

30. The Other Mother by Carol Goodman

An interesting fictional psychological suspense take on the roles of wife and mother.
