Hi!
I've just finished Storm Front and really enjoyed it. It has a very movie like feeling. I've read about the TV show and I'm wondering if it worths the effort. Has anyone seen it? Is it OK? Any advice is welcomed!

The TV show was good, although don't expect a book to screen adaptation, they did take some liberties. Its off the air at the moment, as it got cancelled after the first season, but it is available on DVD through Amazon and all the usual channels.

The last episode I saw was the first premiere reworked, I think, and was a fairly close adaptation of Storm Front - and was also quite a different flavor from the other episodes in the series. I don't think any of the other books made it to the series.

I have it on DVD. I couldn't get past the 2nd or 3rd episode quite frankly, although I really wanted to like it.

Thanks a lot for your posts!

Surely I'm not expecting an accurate adaptation, maybe a good setting and some fun and entertaining stories and of course not ruining the read of the following books in the series.

I liked the series and started watching and reading about the same time. They are very entertaining even if they don't strictly follow the books.

Fool Moon made into an episode. It was a really good series and cancelled far too soon.

Not any more its not. DVD only. I haven't heard a significant rumor it will be restarted. For TV SF-Fantasy, it was quite good. The women were downscoped and prettied up a little.

I liked it, too, and was sorry it was canceled. The comment about liberties is right; if departures from the books are going to bother you, you may not like it.

It wasn' bad, there were a lot of things different so kept me from pointing out the little things.

-mrsradcliffe- have a look on amazon that's how I got a copy, I think it was £10 recently.

MrsHouseLibrary got into the Dresden File books while waiting for the next 'Twilight' book to be released. Then the DF was made into at TV series. I actually enjoyed it; Bob added just the right amount of silliness to the show, imho. All the same, I'm glad it was cancelled. I got tired of my wife's (whom I love very much) real-time critique of how the show was not as good as the book, and why, and the post-show rehash.

>8 mrsradcliffe: mrsradcliffe - I rented it on from Blockbusters, so it must be available in the UK somewhere, but I haven't spotted it any shops (although I haven't looked that hard), so you may have to look online...

I really liked the T.V. show but it was taken off the Sci Fi channel after a year. I could not believe it. Anyway, it got me checking to see if there were books and sure enough! I have read all of Jim Butcher's Dresden File books to date. They are excellent. One of 4 series I am reading.
