What was your first impression of Emiliano Esqueda before he set off running after the thief? Were there any signs that he had also been a victim of abuse?

Emiliano was abused by Shaun as he was dating his mother. Emiliano refused to talk anymore with Shaun.

I don't think there were any obvious signs of previous abuse. His arms didn't heal correctly but it doesn't sound like it was obvious to anyone but Robert.

First impressions were good. Esqueda seems like a public-spirited type: there’s certainly no call for a cop to help an old person load their groceries into their car. From the description, I’d say Esqueda has had his nose broken at some point and his left eye damaged. Possible signs of abuse, now we know what we’re looking for.

I liked Emiliano from the get go, and seemed a good person. Certainly seemed indications of abuse from the way he was described as summarised by >4 Sergeirocks:. Helps if you know you are looking for that.
