They were horrible people who were paying a terrible price for the abuse they heaped on their son. I'm not saying Trevor was justified in what he did but I didn't have any sympathy for his parents either.

I felt truly sorry for Trevor/Russell and what his parents had turned him into. But Trevor needs deep psychiatric help, he cannot be allowed to take any more lives, his form of vigilantism is simply not acceptable, no matter the reason.

What the parents did to Russell led to major trauma damage and most probably PTSD. That however doesn’t excuse what he did. Two wrongs don’t make a right.
