>1 Gatoruss: Welcome and happy new thread! I have Green Mars but I don't think I ever finished it and I never read the others in the series. I'll be interested to see what you think of Red Mars, I probably should have started with the first book in the series.
I also have Guns, Germs and Steel on my TBR pile, probably as a result of recommendations from @claimary and others here.

Welcome! That's a nice mix of books you're reading! The one about plant intelligence sounds interesting.

Thanks to all for the words of welcome.
>2 clamairy: I really like Wally Lamb!
>3 Karlstar: I really enjoyed Red Mars. It is a dense read, but Stanley Kim Robinson weaves a very good story. Like some of his other works, the place and location are as focal to the story as are the characters.
>4 Sakerfalcon: Yes, Light Eaters is very interesting, and I enjoy the science - although it is written for the layperson. I have about 25% remaining, but I would definitely recommend it to anyone that is interested in plants, the environment, nature or how/why thing work. Guns, Germs and Steel is also very interesting.
