Imo Daphne du Maurier is the queen of weird fiction. Here's an overview of four of her short stories, and links to read them for free. Enjoy ;)

Hi! As much as I love Rebecca, it's Dame Daphne's short stories that always get me, even upon rereading them. "Don't' Look Now" is classic example. "The Doll" is very early, but it very successfully evokes the Uncanny even as it introduces some uncomfortable psychosexual tropes that are now fairly commonplace. I remember reading "The Birds", which is really nothing like that terrible movie, and thinking, "Hey! Matheson aside, THIS must have been a huge influence on George Romero's first foray into zombie land!"

"Don't Look Now", "The Doll", and "The Birds" happen to be precisely those stories of hers we've done under the Deep Ones aegis.

It might be a good idea to nominate the two other stores available from the link - "Kiss Me Again, Stranger" and "The Old Man" - for next season.
