Was the risk Hartnell was taking worth it or should he be paying more attention to the ‘Chicken Little claims’?

He’s a megalomaniac. Of course he thinks he’s doing the right thing and sees no risk in his actions.

He’s a madman and is going to do what he feels is right.

Dr Kapoor is not comfortable with this escalation, Hartnell should ask why that is the case. But I can’t see anything or anyone getting in the way of his self-aggrandisement.

His own expert Dr Kapoor is uncomfortable, but also afraid, Hartnell's madness controls him.

He is so convinced he's right he is unwilling to listen to anyone else's input.

He wasn’t going to listen to anyone, he has lost the plot!

This guy would make an excellent Bond villain- totally deluded and convinced that he alone has the answers to the world's problems.

Hartnell was convinced he was right, and spent a lot of time and energy convincing everyone around him (like Dr. Kapoor) that he is right and what he says, goes.
