Any thoughts what they witnessed in the jungle with the elephants? How was it connected? What about the elephant bones?

I think the microbes and the elephants have a symbiotic relationship that will hopefully give an answer as to how to save others that become ‘infected’.
This entire section was beautiful-i’m going to be very upset with Rollins if Vanya and her team disturb the elephants and their habitat!

I enjoyed this section of the book. Never knew how fascinating elephants are. They have a direct connection to the cure as they could drink the contaminated water with no ill affects.

The elephants have a connection to the cure. I just loved this section and the wonderful elephants. I hope Vanya and her thugs don't do anything to harm them.

I agree with others, a fascinating section of the book. I certainly learned a lot about elephants. Would the elephant bones be the cure?

Indeed, a magical section of the book.
The elephants are the key the group has been searching for. The ancient matriarch seems to recognise and acknowledge the significance of their arrival at this point in time. I believe she is aware of the danger that is posed from Hartnell’s antics. (I wouldn’t be surprised if these highly intelligent creatures have their own prophecies, handed down through the generations: she has obviously recognised the significance of the woman and the lion - I’m being fanciful, I know, but, in my defence, Rollins has led us into this fantasy mode…) I fully expect the matriarch to cooperate with Jane (who is likely recognised as the leader of this group) to obtain and depart safely with the cure.
I’m also expecting Valya and her thugs to raise hell in the valley, and for the elephants to come to the defence of Gray’s team.

I agree with everyone. A marvellous section of the book and I found myself rooting for those elephants with some anxiety about human incursions into their territory.

I loved this section of the book and the relationship between Roho and the white baby elephant! How the elephants are going to help Gray's group find the cure, how they know why Gray's group are there, is a mystery. And like everyone here, I hope Valya's team doesn't harm these elephants!
