It will be a while, but I thought I would start it and pin it now before I forget.

We are at 488,395 posts as of this moment

In my dredging for the last countdown thread I found this exchange.
:o(

So very roughly 12,000 posts to go. At 250 (a trifle generously) a week, that will take a year or thereabouts.

>2 clamairy: sadly, one GD-er in that exchange hasn't made it ...

>1 clamairy: LT is showing me 487,163 messages in this group in the statistics, but 488,551 on the right under the banner. I wonder which is correct?

Today the statistics messages count is 487,179 and the messages count is 488,451!

>4 Karlstar: I wonder if that is due to deleted messages, and/or ones that were flagged as spam. Now it's showing me 488,451 posts, and there are definitely NOT 50+ new messages in the group in the last two hours.

Editing to add: Perhaps the group total only updates once or twice a day.

>5 clamairy: I'll try to remember to check on the statistics tomorrow.

That is interesting and sad.

I saw this last night and oh it caught me right in the heart. While looking for something else, I found a cute postcard MrsL sent me some time ago. So mixed finding something like that, happiness that I knew her and sadness that she is gone.

Has the count of posts been updated in the last couple of weeks? I'm still seeing 4-thousand-and-some.

heart emoji needed. (((Hugs to all because she pops up in my memory so frequently as I look at bookshelves)))

I think a piffle party to post almost 11,000 posts would be a bit much, but I know MrsLee would have been up for it. She is sorely missed. I know my life is richer for having known her, even if it was only online.

>12 Karlstar: Muchly ta. Just checked, and I get 487,862.

>15 hfglen: It all depends on where you look, as >4 Karlstar: pointed out. We will be going with the higher number. Also the totals only seem to update once a day.

It's taken us a month to pick up 1,000+ posts. We have slowed down a bit with the posting as the weather has improved in the Northern hemisphere where the majority of our members reside. As >3 haydninvienna: pointed out we have approximately 10-11 months to go.

Would it be at all helpful if someone were to snap a bull whip? I may have one lying about somewhere.

>18 jillmwo: As much as I love you for offering I don't think this is necessary. :o) We will get there when we get there!

Somehow I think @jiilmwo would be very adept at wielding a bull whip. I just have that feeling.

I had just read and loved LOTR when that came out in the cinema. I wanted to introduce my girlfriend to LOTR and thought the film would be a good way to do that. What a disappointing waste of time. I was so upset.

Needless to say the girlfriend never read LOTR.
