I'm in, but a busier weekend, one where I can't hide in my house and read like I have done the past few weekends.

I'm in! I need to make a good start on Paper Bullets for next Sunday's book club. My current audiobook is Saturday the Rabbi Went Hungry.

Good evening, everyone! At least it's evening here in Georgia.
I'm currently reading Shadow of the Moon by M.M. Kaye. It's longish, so I started it two days ago so I could be certain to have it finished before 5 May when Platform Decay by Martha Wells is released. That's not going to be a problem - I'll finish it tonight or tomorrow.

Today was an odd one for me. My husband and I had our monthly gaming marathon, which would normally be next Friday, but he is going to be out of town next weekend. We have been without Internet since last Saturday so I had a lot of things to catch up on. The tech came and went - and while we were having lunch our Internet went out again. The tech came and went again but this time our Internet stayed with us and I spent a lot of time tonight doing nothing but catching up on stuff, including a bunch of stuff here on LT. Hopefully I will get more reading in tomorrow!

Saturday morning, - Georgia, USA
We finally got some of the rain we needed!
Books read from: Shadow of the Moon by M. M. Kaye; Fanboys by Andie Elliott
Books finished: Shadow of the Moon
Thoughts: I finished Shadow of the Moon last night, and it was excellent (historical fiction, India). M. M. Kaye is one of the BAC (British Author Challenge) and I am fully planning to wallow in her work all month.
I work both today and Sunday, so that will limit my reading time - although I have few other plans this weekend. And, of course, on days I work I get audiobook listening time in the car!
Total read from: 2: Shadow of the Moon; Fanboys

Saturday report
Books read from: I Contain Multitudes: The Microbes Within Us and a Grander View of Life by Ed Yong. Dispatches From Pluto: Lost and Found in the Mississippi Delta by Richard Grant. My continuous reading book is still Katharine Graham's Washington by Katharine Graham. My computer book is Walking It Off by Doug Peacock. I am listening to The Rocks by Peter Nichols.
Books finished: I contain Multitudes: The Microbes Within Us and a Grander View of Life by Ed Yong
Book Thoughts: I purchased I Contain Multitudes back in 2016 at an ALA Mid-Winter Conference at the Tattered Cover Bookstore in downtown Denver and just now got around to reading it. I read it for the Nonfiction Challenge here on LT and I have to say this was a very good, and objective, look at the rather new idea of a healthy gut microbiome. This was very readable science and once I got started reading it, it went fast. It is mostly a medical science book about the inner workings of all kinds of animals. The main point is that life on Earth is not a one off deal. We carry around a microbiome made up of many kinds of microscopic animals and these play a major role in the way our body works. I am glad I read this book.
Activities: My Aunt called me and had me come get all kinds of sewing supplies. She is cleaning and getting rid of stuff she has accumulated over the last 25 years. She has slowed down a great deal and the sewing supplies she gave me are things that people don't use. I can sew and am good at it, and she thought I would like to have some of the stuff. She is correct, but my goodness, there was a great deal of it. I don't really have room for it, but I don't want somebody to just throw it out either. My Aunt and I had a nice long visit as well.

Weekend summary:
Books read from: The Mad Ship by Robin Hobb, 1491 by Charles C. Cook
Books finished: none
Pages read: 250-ish
It ended up being a lighter than usual reading weekend. No big reason, just spent a bunch of time on some other stuff.
