um sorry when i switched to the new thread my lists that i did read are a mess and need ro re do. I can tell you i am still reading world of wonders which is a lovely memoir of her family who traveled frequntly but no matter where she found them filled with the creatures she comes across in the wild. felt for her when her teacher tore up her picture of a peacock 'i said american animals' and loved what she ended up turning in instead

just started seasons of glass and iron which is similar to the first book with two young sisters who discover nature while her mom is working. they are starting to get too similar so I may not try to read both finally reading feet of clay for this months nightwatch read

in the meantime im looking for comfort reads. one of the first is lolly willowes andhitchhikers guide to the galaxy then good omen looking for books that have a hopeful look on things. trying to stay away from news for a bit let me know if you have any ideas

I was surprised to see on the bottom of my page align with the review I There is an image icon Does that mean Yeah I been missing this icon all this time I see that it will take gallery photos but I think you have to download those if those are correct anyway I'm kind of excited mean there I can just and get my pictures posted Someone tell me how it works please

So I'm just learning about how the new image feature works myself. When you click the button, it gives you options to either

1. Choose an image from your computer
2. Drag an image from another location on your computer into the box
3. Past in the URL of an online photo

Once you do that, you have some options for manipulating the photo. It seems to add the photo to the bottom of your post.

That's all I've got!

Lollys nephew has gotten married she takes them to the train station and refuses to ride with them to the station. Pandora, the new wife in a desparate voice says "oh miss willowes for gods sakes please come you have no ideahow awful it is to be left alone with the one you loove laura replies very well ill come as a thank offering

ive been in hiding a bit not able to hear one more thing that our non king has done. so far it helps calm me, i have been reading quie a bit/ world of wonders about a young girl whose parents move around a lot in each place she meditats on the area wild population fireflies whale sharks courpse flowerand a po-too her drawings of each are just lovel she also writes of her experince growing up in america the bad and the good and her abilty to make it all work

recommended to anyone who enjoys our wild things and the coming of age of a young girl who i hope writes something new soon

also read seasons of glass and iron a collection of short stories by the author of one of my favorte time travel book heres how we stop the time war stories are in her usual style that i just love. 5*

then there are two books i read for the rrt theme of may; first one much ado about nothing discovered new lines that arnt in the play and jusrt found it fun,5*

the second was kent state and i did not finish it. i need to think more what i didnt like aboit it perhaps its the black and write text that made every
one look like zombies

finally i read the boy on back of a turtle which i just loved. taught me a lot more about creatuer living in the Galappagos and more about darwins discoveries lots of humor , ( i love that the canadian aurhor timothy findley wrote a blurb for the book; love his books)

15cindydavid4
May 24, 10:50 pm

i read kent state for the reading through time theme" it happened in may."at first i was put off by the design of the book, but then i started reading the text explaining how this started on the 1st of may, to the 4th. so i was hooked. i remember watching about shooting back then and i think about it every time i hear the song. i wanted to learn more and this author presented gave me information i never heard about. by the time i finished i was in tears. that there was no one taken to court an convicted is beyond the pale if you were like me 50 years ago struggling to find the answers this is place to start 4* minus one for the hard to read graphic to i think others will not have the problem

Hey Cindy, thought I would say hi on your thread. I hear you about trying to stay low with everything going on with the melon felon; but I do like staying somewhat up-to-date, especially when the courts stop him, which thrills me to no end.

I studied chemical engineering at the University of Arizona, graduating 40 years ago, oh my! My first job after graduation was in Phoenix, where I worked until I was transferred to SoCal.

I loved Tucson - it wasn't too big of a city, and the Catalina Mountains always felt so close. The sunrises, sunsets, lightning storms were all spectacular. Once I finally introduced Arizona to my spouse, he loved it too; for many years we spent Christmastime in Tucson.

I have that Virago Modern Classics version - The Semi-Attached Couple and the Semi-Detached House; I've been trying to read one Virago Modern Classics book a month, choosing the authors alphabetically, so I think I will read this one next, after I finish Daphne Du Maurier's The House on the Strand - thanks for the prompt!

>17 LisaMorr: welcome to my thread alway glad to see a zonie who reads.i hope you like the eden book read it decades ago in england and loved it;reading now seems to be a different experience; the best parts feel like theyve been told too much to be funny. still likin it , curious your thoughts edit ialmao

By the way last year was the 50th anniversary of my high school graduation and fifty years from moving into the dorm at U of A There are several of us who have stayed in touch over the years about 10 of us And we ended up having a our own little reunion dinner and going out to Mojave Dorm checking it out So much fun to catch up so much to realize how much has changed and it was good

the old pueblo is still a small town at its heart but it has grown - traffic is horriblle, still working on I10 and finally talking about maybe lightrail but im not expecting it. but the mountainns havent changed a bit sunrises snd sets are still breathtaking monsoons as well, they still restrict housing too far north and despite a horrible fire a few years back, mt lemmon is still a cool escape and is growing back. lemme know if youll be in town and we can do a F2F

just heard therei s another fire on lemmon(:

Catching up on on some reading ;the six pack Snow White started out real good. Once the stepmother came into being it definitely was not our Disney Snow White. Several reviewers pointed out that the darkness of this book mirrored the original GR stories I'll give it that but there were some other problems with the book having to do especially racial issues that made me so uncomforable That I stopped reading it and not sure I'll be back to it

I'm now reading Taiwan Travelog which I'm really liking And eager to start in onthe age of calamities that everybody has been talking about. Stay tuned

I am now readingParallel Lives A love story of two unlikely figures played out against the backdrop of the Cold War written by Ian Pears who has written several other historical books he has a good understanding of time periods and he makes great use of that. I'm suspecting this book has not been published yet I can't seem to find a touch tone for it so look out for it because that's good
No

Not much going on today I am going to Irish dancing but that's another I have my cats around me and I have good music on and I'm just enthralled in this history book I am reading I spent most of the morning and afternoon doing that without moving which I need to do that And close to the end of it and I doubt there's gonna be any problems with that so I think I can say right now this is going to be a keeper and I would like to recommend this to people happy reading

>26 cindydavid4: There are so many parallel lives that it gets lost in the touchstones. Parallel Lives: A Love Story from a Lost Continent should work better. And thank you for the book bullet! I loved the first Iain Pears I read, An Instance of the Fingerpost, the next one not so much, I think it was The Portrait, and yes, surprisingly enough the touchstone worked for this one! Anyway I might look up your parallel lives.

>28 FlorenceArt: You are in for a treatThe portrait is a story basically about revenge but it's more than that It's a very very short compared to his other books and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did Oh yes I did notice how many titles that came up. Makes me wonder how they are choosing titles of their books.

If you are interested in art history he has a detective series that Uncovers fakes and other things of famous artwork. I'm not a big fan of mysteries but this series is really good especially if you like art history
