One day I will get to this. Here's what's happening this year

I've been wanting to attend one of those conferences for years, if not just to soak up the atmosphere and hang around a lot of Faulknerfobes. Ah well, someday, maybe.

Don't you mean "Faulknerphiles"?

"Faulknerfobes" or "Faulknerphiles", so many of them show up in Oxford each year for the conference, and having been down there a couple of times, have always found it interesting to meet other hard-core WF fans, particularly those who've been attending regularly over the years.

I'm there, if on the fringes, almost every year..no exception this year!

"Faulknerphobes" was my weak attempt at humor that didn't work.

I'm the world's worst at posting tongue so firmly planted in cheek that it often comes out all chewed to pieces. But I have learned to soldier on through the lack of humorous imagination in my fellow auditors without acknowledging my humor one way or the other. Never apologize is my credo, just keep on keepin' on and those that get it will be your friend forever, and those who don't, won't.

Just a thought, but if folks are planning on being there perhaps we could arrange a get together for Thingers. I would be so bold as to suggest a foray to Taylor Grocery for some catfish (music, perhaps) and fun..

#7 Sometimes it's tough to "get" a person's humor in this forum, where there are no gestures, facial expressions or body language to help out.
