Prologue - a sacrificial killing?
When I read the ‘15 Years Later’ scene, I thought Anne Marrick was too covered in blood, simply from walking in on her dead husband.
Blood-soaked right through to her underwear? I surmise she must have killed her husband, or been standing very close to him when he was killed. No way could she get that soaked from just standing by his dead body.
And she obviously doesn’t read crime fiction if she thought washing her clothes in the sink would remove all traces of blood (from either the clothes, or the drains!).

>2 Sergeirocks: You've covered this very well. I believe she killed him also. She would have had to have either killed him or rolled around in his blood. Of course it could have been from blood splatter...but that was ALOT of blood!

I am not sure about this. Is it not a bit obvious to get such a strong clue of the killer's identity right the start of the book? I agree that all of that blood on her clothes is odd.

I agree with Sergei - definitely a lot of blood but too early to tell if Annette is the killer.

I agree with Sergei. >2 Sergeirocks:
Made me think even she had killed or had him killed and came across the body. Seemed no surprise and as said seemed far too much blood.
