Any thoughts on the letter Neil received at the beginning of Chapter 1? What did you think he should do about it?

I’m presuming the letter helps introduce a link to the usual parallel (historical) story we get in this series, in this case to do with monks, and the subject of ‘bleeding’.
Was the letter a threat, or a plea for help? It could be either. But whichever it is, Neil did the right thing in saving it for future reference, if needed. Although, personally, I’d have gone one step further and asked Wesley to have a look at it and see what he thought.

It should be reported to the authorities, and Wesley needs to either see it or at least know of its existence.

>2 Sergeirocks: I agree that the letter must be linked to the murder. All these blood references can't be a co-incidence.

Keeping the letter was the correct action to be taken. There appears to be a nexus with the letter’s author and the monk’s blood letting.

Definitely feel he should have shared it with Wesley, and as others have mentioned (and we know how these books work) there has to be some sort of connection or similarity to the murders.
