Any thoughts on the inconsistencies in the witness statements, and the Sommelier and Fabrice Colbert not arriving back at the restaurant at the same time?

The wine waiter said he was with Colbert all afternoon. He said he visited a wine merchant in Neston - Varney’s Vintages. It didn’t tie in with a statement from one of the young chefs. He said he was looking for Colbert that afternoon because of a phone call for him. He asked the sommelier where he was and he said he’s just been to Neston with him but they’d split up because Colbert had to go somewhere and he’d be back in half an hour.

He had a stop to make, not murder, he wants to keep the stop confidential.

It brings Colbert back into the equation, but most probably a genuine reason for this. Still doesn’t make me suspect him as the killer.

Anyone found out to be lying moves up the suspect list but Colbert still does not seem the likeliest suspect.
