Do you think community service was enough for Carl’s mugging of Steve Carstairs?

It was his first offense so community service only meant that he hadn’t been caught at it before. It seems to be his lucky day so I suppose that’s what the magistrate ordered.

Attacking a police officer deserves a stiffer penalty.

The magistrate has to go by the book - first offence, and all that - but it’s a mockery. Carl is a bad ‘un. But, in any case, a custodial sentence wouldn’t have made a jot of difference to him. There’s going to be no turning this boy round.
