Any thoughts why Dean’s death seemed different, or who Frankie or our friend might be or mean?

Dean Mortimer died from poison and Frankie could be Brother Francis.

Dean’s death was probably different because he wasn’t involved in whatever Marrick and friends had done as youths which has caused their demise today. I didn’t know who Frankie was, until the end of the chapter. Who ‘our friend’ is, remains to be seen.
