In ... and sort of the same, but really I'm just in denial about The (dreaded) Basement, my next "weeding" project.

I'm listening to Pachinko (still), reading a mystery on my Kindle, and going to be focused on an Early Reviewers win and finishing a book that currently has a bookmark in it. Have to prepare to talk over Life and Death are Wearing Me Out by Monday with my English language learner, too. So the books will be a very pleasant distraction/procrastination from The (dreaded) Basement.

I’m in.
Today has been a little frantic with the 2 yr old getting fingers caught in the car door. They’re at urgent care now ..
Tomorrow the rest of the family leaves for a week at the beach. I will be home minding the 4 cats and reading.

Books:
CHILD OF THE OWL
LIBRARIANS by Sherry Thomas

I read several picture books to the little one earlier today. She likes song books.
DO YOUR EARS HANG LOW
THE ANTS GO MARCHING
OVER IN THE MEADOW
DOWN BY THE STATION
HUSH LITTLE BABY
THIS OLD MAN
and
PUT ME IN THE ZOO

So my sis just let me know the grandie is ok, getting xray, can move fingers, and managed to smile at the cheery nurse.

Friday startup from Kansas USA
Books read from: Universe of Stone: Chartres Cathedral and the Invention of the Gothic by Philip Ball. My continuous reading book, Katharine Graham's Washington by Katharine Graham. My computer book is Walking It Off by Doug Peacock. I started listening to Light Between Oceans by M. L. Stedman

Books finished:

Book Thoughts: I made significant progress on Light Between Oceans. I am almost to the halfway point in it. This was mostly due to the fact that I made a trip to Lincoln, NE yesterday that I did not plan on making. But it was 4 hours of listening time. I have also passed the halfway mark in Katherine Graham's Washington. I have reached page 429 in that book. It is a real tome with a little over 800 pages. From here is all downhill.

Activities: I have 4 plants to find homes for among my various kinds of containers. I hope to find something for them before the next rain.

Reading Time: 1 hours
Time listening:
Time posting:
Food: egg on bagel sandwich with gazpacho for lunch.

Total books finished since the Read-A-Thon Began: 590
Total Time Reading since the Social Distancing read-a-thon began: 1796 hours since I started doing the weekend Read-A-Thon starting in April of 2020.

Saturday report from Kansas USA
Books read from: Universe of Stone: Chartres Cathedral and the Invention of the Gothic by Philip Ball. My continuous reading book, Katharine Graham's Washington by Katharine Graham. My computer book is Walking It Off by Doug Peacock. I started listening to Light Between Oceans by M. L. Stedman

Books finished:

Book Thoughts: I made little progress on any of my books today. I am headed off to bed soon and will read in bed. I should make some progress doing that. I only have 50 pages left in Universe of Stone.

Activities: Spent the day in town at the grocery store purchasing supplies to make the kolaches for the big Munden 250th celebration. I had help with the decision making this morning and then it was off to the grocery store. Also, had confirmation that I will have at least one other person to help make the kolaches. That is good news. Also, had a very nice lunch with my co-chair while we did the planning, so I think we are ready. Perhaps more ready for this celebration than the Orange Haired Gasbag is for his celebration.

Reading Time: 1 hours
Time listening:
Time posting:
Food: ate lunch at Red Robin and had a hamburger. I wanted to go to Chipotle's, but the other person wasn't enthusastic about that. So I age another fast food hamburger.

Weekend Wrap-up from Kansas USA
Books read from: Universe of Stone: Chartres Cathedral and the Invention of the Gothic by Philip Ball. Return to Sender by Craig Johnson. My continuous reading book is still Katharine Graham's Washington by Katharine Graham. My computer book is Walking It Off by Doug Peacock. I am listening to Light Between Oceans by M. L. Stedman

Books finished: Universe of Stone: Chartres Cathedral and the Invention of the Gothic by Philip Ball

Book Thoughts: I finished Universe of Stone and enjoyed this study of the invention of the Gothic architecture style and all the changes and innovation that brought about in architecture. I have owned this book since 2011. It was purchased at the Cool Springs Galleria Mall in Franklin, Tennessee at the Border's Going-Out-of-Business Sale on March 19. (Gotta love LT and all the note keeping capabilities that are built into the system.) I finally read it for the LT Nonfiction Challenge because the June topic was architecture. I also read it because I am starting to prepare myself for the Isle-de-France trip I am planning to take at some point in my life. It was a good book on the subject of the cathedral building that took place in the Isle during the 13th century. This building boom created an atmosphere in which many innovations in architecture happened that changed the way people created, built, and used buildings. The only problem with the book was that it was slow to start. It spent more pages on the philosophy of the time than was needed, and this section was more academic than it needed to be. When the author got to the actual mechanical details of the building the book moved right along and was full of fascinating history and details about how the building was built.

Activities: Had a quiet day on Sunday but didn't get much read. As usual, I spent most of the day on the telephone. I attended a local church ice cream social fund raiser with a friend and had a good time.

Reading Time: 3 hours
Time listening:
Time posting:
Food: grilled hamburger and honeybee ice cream.
