Were you surprised when Chastain complimented Bosch? How do you think they will get on?

Yes I was and I think they will make a good matchup with some bumps along the way.

I was surprised that Chastain complimented Bosch in a recent case he was handling.

They're going to work together but may never be best friends...which they don't have to be to work the case successfully. Chastain is professional enough to recognize good police work when he sees it, so his complimenting Harry was a professional thing to do.

I don't think they are going to be buddies. I expect some fireworks along the way.

I’m still wary of Chastain. He might truthfully be impressed by Bosch, or he might simply be buttering him up. Chastain could still be harbouring a grudge because he’s failed (twice) to nail Bosch.
I’m keeping a close eye on how this goes.

Yes, I was as surprised as Bosch was. I wonder whether the compliment was genuine or was buttering up Bosch to drop his guard.

I think they are both professionals and want to close this case. Bosch made the first move to bury the hatchet (at least for the duration of the case). I think it was Chastain’s way of telling Bosch he has some respect for his ability and that he’s willing to work with him..not against. I hadn’t considered Chastain was being disingenuous. Lol. I guess we’ll see!

I agree that this partnership will be an uneasy one. Is it wrong of me to be looking forward to some fireworks?
