The book I was trying to update is "It's Shoe Time!" by Bryan Collier.

Under the author Bryan. There are 2 copies of the book. Normally I would think the answer would be the divide the author and alias to Bryan Collier and then combine them.
However, the disambiguation notice sounds like one shouldn't split the author.
What is the correct solution>
Thanks

The solution is to split the "Bryan" page and alias the split you want to Bryan Collier. The two author pages do not need to be combined (and shouldn't be). The books listed under Bryan (#) will show up on Bryan Colllier's page once you do the aliasing. You can combine the books from either page.

Wouldn't have been simpler to combine the works, which would have removed the title from the Bryan page?
