A Resistance History of the United States

I’ve been waiting impatiently for this book for a year. I think I was introduced to Tad Stoermer on social media, where he would comment on current events and offer historical perspective, much like Heather Cox Richardson does.

His book is finally out and I’ve got it on audio in Libby.

One of his first framings is that the Anti-Federalists made a successful resistance move by getting the Bill of Rights added to the Constitution.
This is a subject I’ve been meaning to read on as well, but had not just yet.

I’m rapidly convinced I need to have a hard copy in hand. Drat!

I was on chapter 4, nearly a quarter of the way through the audio book. I can’t take functional notes from audio.
Thanks be, my physical copy arrived in the mail today.

It will probably be slow going, as I’m still recovering from 6 months of functional blindness, and I’m out of practice. (Surgery on the second eye is this week; praying there are no complications)

Have you read the Anti-federalist Papers yet?

My reading plate is pretty full too. Not only do I want to start on this fall’s class reading list, I am re-reading some old favorites to rev up the practice.
I’ve become addicted to TikTok this year. I know, Ugly!
