Interesting choice :)

>1 FitzJames: So we're getting quite a collection of transgressive fiction now. Trainspotting, American Psycho, Wasp Factory. Fear and Loathing. Arguably Clockwork Orange was on there since way back. Fight Club is an obvious next step. I think we had a thread about wishlists where this came up a while ago but I can't remember what titles people dropped. Something Burroughs? Hubert Selby Jr for sure.

>4 A.Godhelm: Maybe we'll get Geek Love if they are looking at transgressive lit. I shudder to think of the illustrations though.

>5 Auberon: I haven't read Geek Love but wikipedia's description suggests it could be worth a read. Apparently David Hughes did the cover for it so there's a tenuous Folio connection already!
Not having read it, I hadn't realised it inspired this song by Bang Bang Machine which was a favourite of mine way back when Peely played it on his show:

Edit to add the longer, much better version of the song from the EP: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nP8bBP37eCc

>6 Cat_of_Ulthar: It's a tremendous novel but fairly extreme. Probably up there with American Psycho in terms of shock factor, but to my mind Geek Love is a much greater literary achievement. I think David Hughes would actually make a lot of sense to illustrate Geek Love...I actually liked the look of the American Psycho illustrations but detest the novel itself.
>7 MyrddinWyllt: I do hope to get a copy of that, but I'm not a huge fan of Centipede's current style.

>7 MyrddinWyllt: That's true. Of course, Centipede's doing just about everything!

>6 Cat_of_Ulthar: No. 1 in the Festive Fifty, the only chart which counts.

Oh, sick! I was just thinking I'd like to own this in a nice edition. I'd probably wait for a standard, recent LEs have been really expensive and not that impressive.
Still, good news!
