We seem to be in the mix-n-match body parts school of cover art. I'm particularly troubled by the parrot-lobster on wheels.

The furry-tailed turtle looks positively normal compared to the rest.

Is the thing down left another weird critter, or just a giant mutant dragon fruit?

I really liked these books as a kid, but reread a couple of them recently and, well... "of their time" is the politest phrase.
