I have come late to this - never went to the old Theatre Royal but enjoyed the rather attenuated festival in October 2006 and the June 2007 festival in the temporary theatre at Johnstown Castle. The atmosphere was great and the opera unusual, as usual.
We are going next October with eager anticipation of the new theatre - just a hole in the ground last year. You can see the programme on http://wexfordopera.ticketsolve.com/shows/2008
Rimsky-Korasakov's Snegurochka is sold out but there are still seats available for the other operas.
Anyone attended in the past with memories to share about the old Theatre Royal?
