I've just finished a marathon of all of her journals, plus her official biography, which, shall we say ... undermines them. Quite a contrast!
Since Doris Grumbach appears regularly as a colleague in May's writing, I've started her first memoir, which I'm enjoying. Her last wok includes a specific profile of the "real May" as Doris knew her, so that should bring things full circle for me.
