I see that this is a commonly shared book in our group--what do we think of it? I read it last year. I am hungry for other people's perspectives...

I read that book. I thought it was interesting...I am really an advocate of seeing erotica explored in any way, and I was glad for the buzz around the book. Anal sex is not really taboo to me, but to write a memoir about it is very daring. It's in the genre for me with The Sexual Life of Catherine M.. It is really daring to write about sex in a frank and personal way. I write about sex, but it is all made up. I deeply respect writers who write about it personally.

At first I half-thought that it was written by a transsexual person but was surprised to read a book by a real person who truly surrendered to her own nature and appetites. This was a story of great courage and generosity.
