Chick Lit for 40-something Women

I love chick lit and I've been enjoying the stories of the 20-somethings looking for husbands and the 30-somethings, trying to get promoted at work and that's cool, but I would love to read something about a 40-something year old (could be single/married, whatever) that has teenage memories of the '80's and is not just all wrapped up in her children - any suggestions?

I absolutely love The Sweet Potato Queens' Book of Love by Jill Conner Browne who is just as fun in person if you get the chance.

I can also recommend Ladies with Options by Cynthia Hartwick and Angry Housewives Eating Bon Bons by Lorna Landvik.

Nancy Fairbanks series about Carolyn Blue might fall more under the cozy mysteries but I enjoy it too.

I'm not much of chick lit reader, but here are some female focused books I (as a childfree woman) really enjoyed -

The Book of Fred by Abby Bardi
The Madness of a Seduced Woman by Susan Fromberg Schaffer
The Education of Mrs. Bemis by John Sedgwick

I think I have a review of each of them, too.

Getting Over Jack Wagner by Elise Juska is one that I read and liked. It's My F---ing Birthday by Merrill Markoe is one that I have on my TBR pile that may apply...
