New Stephen King story coming out, and if I know you guys your just like me-already on a waiting list for it. So I just wanted to know who was excited for the upcoming release, what you think it might be like (especially since it's a collection), or anything else involving the biggest news since Duma Key.
Also, does anybody collect the comic book series. He has two out already (I've finished that collection), and just released a new series called Captain Trips, my guess is it's about The Stand, the other two involved the Dark Tower.

I'm pretty stoked. There's also a special edition that contains a DVD with "N" in it's entirety.

As for the graphic novels, I have The Gunslinger Born but not the second Dark Tower one. And yes, Captain Trips is based on The Stand.

I don't count the comics. He isn't actually writing them himself (and quite honestly I'm not crazy about the Dark Tower books or The Stand).

I know it's awful, but I'm waiting for the paperback (I always do. I buy too many books to pay $20-ish and I don't like hauling around a hard back).

If it's in a collection of his other short stories, I'm there. Not a fan of the Dark Tower either so the comics have no appeal, although I do love The Stand.

The book version of the comics are actually not as good, in my opinion. The comics themselves each have a bit of mythology that relates to the Tower - Maerlin's Glasses, or the History of the Baronies - which isn't included in the book format. Well worth picking up the comics for that extra info, but that may just be for the Tower-obsessed.

I agree pag! I love all the little extra info at the end of each comic.
Yeah I know they're not written by King, but in the end of every mag. he writes something and almost always does a short interview. As long as something is Stephen King (especially Dark Tower) related I'll snatch it up, plus it's interesting seeing someone else's point of view on how the character act and look.
Stefany- do you know if that addition costs extra?
I don't mind paying 20$ for a new SK, because I didn't start collecting seriously until most of his novels were done so I got most of my hardbacks (which I have all of them) pretty cheap by means of used book stores and the internet. I'm the opposite of you jseger, I love carrying around my hardbacks, I'm way too rough to carry around a paperback!

Regular version is $18.48 and collector's edition is $24.75 on Amazon.

Just picked up the two latest editions of Treachery and Captain Trips, I'm really enjoying Trips, because it goes along with the storyline a little better then the first two series did...even though they are about different novels. So if you enjoyed The Stand, which I think most of us do/did, you would probably like the comics as well...

I just spotted on Just After Sunset on shelves this evening. Any buyers? How about early comments and opinions?

(Sadly, I'll have to wait until either Xmas or the paperback.)

I'll probably grab it when I see it next...at Sam's Club or maybe B&N. I hope this is a memorable collection. The last couple I was sort of meh on.

I went to the bookstore to get it yesterday. :( I was off on the release date by a day. I'll get back out to get it some time this week, for sure.

Me too stefany. Ordered mine of Amazon cause I thought I was getting a steal. Well here it is two days later still no book, but the kicker? I saw it in Wal-Mart for the price I paid minus the shipping and handeling. That's what I get for being impatient.

Got mine yesterday, started it today!! The introduction from King is pretty good, somehow it always feels like he's talking to you.

Anyone interested in doing a 'read along'? We could do it by the story titles in chronological order...
