I was checking eBay for some needed Ace doubles and saw a listing to D-36 for $74.99. I saw some others that I have listed for $14.99.
Does anyone think those prices are high or normal?

Well, do they actually sell at those prices?

The price can be whatever the market will bear.
Maybe someone is prepared to pay that if they've been looking for years. I have paid $70 for a mass market before.
Most doubles can be had for $3-$6. It also depends on condition, lets face it they suffer badly from acid paper.
For D-36, the low end currently is about $6-$12 for a rough copy. $12-25 for a decent one. More if you want perfect.
www.bookfinder.com will show you a lot of current online pricing over many different sites.
It may also depend on who is on one side of the double, Dean Koontz or Phil Dick as part of the double is going to jack the price up ;-)
In Koontz's case they are true first editions of his work, and have not been reprinted, so they are sought after by collectors. I had to pay the Koontz price, for the Emil Petaja on the other side ;-)

Fortunately, I bought the Koontz doubles when they were new. I could like to get a copy of the Lancer book Hell's Gate, mostly for the Kelly Freas cover art, but am not willing to pay the high prices.

I couldn't buy ACE Doubles at that point, not having been born yet.
I'm trying to make up for the lost years, by buying even more Science Fiction now.
