Anyone see this one? I really loved the book(s) but haven't checked out the movie yet. I'll wait till I can Netflix it. Heard very mixed reviews. Opinions?

I know this response is a bit late, but I just watched City of Ember with my family over the weekend (via Netflix). I really enjoyed the movie and the book continues to languish in my tbr pile so I'm unable to do a comparison at this time. I hope to get to it soon.

I enjoyed City of Ember very much. Its setting, under the earth in a decaying city, was really fabulously done, in my opinion. edited to add: not being much of a video watcher, I am glad I got to see this one in the theater.

the characters (Doon and Lisa i think) were too old. They were supposed to be like 13.... i guess they needed more mature characters

The movie was all right as long as you didn't read the books first otherwise your going to have a few complaints to make.
