Hi all,

I recently started a teen book club for the public library I work at, and the first book we are reading is Twilight. I was wondering if anyone here had suggestions for things like discussion questions, or other Twilight-related things we could do at our book club that teens might enjoy? I'm really excited about it and I hope the teens will have a good time as well! Thanks!

Hi Lexie,

As a teen myself, I think I could probably suggest a few questions!

How about...

What do you think the cover of Twilight symbolises?

I really love Twilight and after you've read it, there is a series called "Uglies" which is awesome, I know the title seems a bit lame but it is really good, many Twilight fans have gone onto this series after Twilight. Another series I could suggest is the Airhead series, it's about a normal, unpopular, plain-looking girl who is in love with her best friend, Christopher and after a strange accident -- she's now in the body of the it girl and supermodel, Nikki Howard. The series has three books (Airhead, book 1, 2008/ Being Nikki, book 2, 2009/ Yet to be named, book 3, 2010)
Some questions for Twilight:
Maybe a few questions about the quotes like ..

"And so the lion fell in love with the lamb .."
Q. Why do you think Edward refers to himself as the lion and Bella as the lamb?

And like ..

Q. Discuss Bella and Edward's changes, both mental and emotional, through out the novel, why and how were the changes made, were they for the better, worse etc:

And this will be a real favourite (not!)

Q. Write your own blurb for Twilight:

I hoped I helped.
To answer Casey's question, the apple symbolizes how Bella and Edward's love is forbidden .. the apple, in popular belief, is used to signify the forbidden fruit in the garden of Eden.
I will try to get more questions, we did an assigment on a novel and it had some really good questions .. I'll have to find the sheet!!
