Your ideal studio

What tools would you have in your ideal bookbinding / book arts studio?

Personally, I know I'd have a board shear, a cast iron book press, and a finishing press. And maybe a tear bar.

Add a sewing frame and a plough.

I would love to have space and fill it with stuff to make paper!

I already have a cast iron press, a finishing press, a small sewing frame, a large sewing frame, two hot stamping machines, four boxes of type, and one paring knife. I would like to have a binder's stove and all the finishing tools.

My dad has an iron book press, and I have the materials to put together a home-made laying press (in my copious spare time). A sewing frame is the next project after that.

a big heavy sturdy table.... really big really sturdy table... with shelves or storage underneath.

I've seen my definition of heaven when I saw the workroom in the conservation office where a friend used to work in Cheshire... EVERYTHING was there!!!

Including some really really old, really really interesting papers, books, maps, ... stuff!!!
