Lotharia's 999 Challenge

I would love to complete this challenge!! I would love it if anyone could give me suggestions to add for the categories I have selected to fill out the empty spots. I am trying to fill up the spaces with books that I already own first, but new suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Some of these titles overlap, so if I can't come up with a book I'll just sort of fill out the categories with books from the same series and adjust it as I go along!! Hi!

First, I love your titles and categories! I am doing the regular 999 challenge but I read a lot of paranormal related books too.

I noticed something in your categories, some of the books by Kelley Armstrong are placed in the wrong categories I think: I am currently reading Dime Store Magic and it' more about witches and sorcerer, while Stolen was about werewolves. It gets confusing since she uses many different narrators. ;-)

Also, I don't know if you've already read Moon called by Patricia Briggs. I haven't read it yet, but I heard it's a good shapeshifter novel. Also, in your ghosts category I would suggest A certain slant of light, which is more a poetic than a horrific story of ghosts. I read Blue Girl and I liked it, although not my most favorite book of the author.

Finally, in the time travel category, The Time Traveler's Wife is really popular, and I enjoyed it too, I thought it was well written and a good page-turner. There's also Replay, by Ken Grimwood, which is not exactly about time travel, at least not in the usual way, but it has an interesting idea.

For Werewolves there is a new la banks series called crimson moon novels.

There will be three once the newest comes out next year, you could add those to your list. As for some of the others please feel free to look at my list, and tell me if you have any I have not thought of.

Thank you for the input!!

kittykay: I haven't read any of the Kelley Armstrong books yet and I know a lot of them overlap, so I will have to get those sorted out!! Thank you for the suggestions, I am going to add them to my list.

jomullane: Cool, thanks!! I just took a peek at your 999 list and I love it! I might have to steal a few of those for my own list! I'll post over there some of my suggestions :)

For your 'Demon' catagory you could possibly read:

Jacquelyn Frank's Nightwalker series. The first book is Jacob
Jaci Burton has a series called 'Demon Hunters' but the hero's of the stories are the Demon's. The first book is Surviving Demon Island.
Gena Showalter's 'Lords of the Underworld' series would also work. The first book is The Darkest Night.

I don't have suggestions for you since the categories I could recommend for you are filled in already! If you like silly chick lit, Marianne Mancusi has two books about time travel, they are what I call my "fun throwaway" type books- cute, quick, and easy.

I love some of the ideas that you have on here for your categories, I may borrow a couple of ideas from you!

Thanks for the suggestions! I appreciate them all! I actually finished 2 books yesterday. I read Swallowing Darkness by Laurell K. Hamilton. It was all right... Probably my least favourite of the Meredith Gentry series, but still I love LKH!! The other book I read was Coraline by Neil Gaiman. I have wanted to read Neil Gaiman for a long time. I enjoyed this book. It was kind of creepy, which I'm sure was the intention. I read it in one sitting and I look forward to reading more of his work.

Oh.. and I love your idea of "fun throwaway" books amysnortts... I usually call those types simply "one-time-reads" but your way is so much more fun to say!!

I've always wanted to read Coraline (1-it's so small, and 2-I love YA books), but I have yet to find a copy to buy. Btw, have you ever read Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman? It's my first and favorite book by him. I'd definitely recommend it. :)

>7 amysnortts: Is one of the Mancusi books titled Moongazer? I just recently got it off of BookMooch and haven't read it yet. I love the cover!

No, I haven't read Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman but it is on my list of books to read... someday!!

Errr... well, so far, I've read...... 3 paranormal books.. It looks like I'm going to have to pick up the pace if I want to complete this challenge!

I finished Bitten by Kelley Armstrong. I quite liked this tale of werewolves and I love the Canadian references. I have Stolen as one of the next books I'm going to read.

I have a whole bunch of books coming from Bookmooch (which, I just started to get involved with and love!) soooooo I'm definitely going to get into some deep reading very soon!!

Well, if it makes you feel better, I've only read 1 paranormal book so far. :D I keep getting sidetracked with non-paranormal books. Oh well. Hope your Bookmooch bundle comes soon. :)
