Hey there! I attempted to post this earlier today, but my cable was accidentally shut off. Oops. Anyway, I'm just going to attempt to post it again. Hopefully it's not already up here.
My goal for 2009 is to read as much as possible. I don't have a specific number I'm looking for, but I guess it will probably end up around 50. I started my first book mid-December, and I finished it this morning.
1. The Stand by Stephen King
Rating: 5/5
Reason: I love this book. This was my second time reading it and it just made me love it even more. The first time I zoomed through it, so I told myself that I would pay more close attention the second time around. I find it incredible how King is able to keep track of such a huge volume of characters, all while keeping the plot running at a reasonable pace. I recommend this book to anyone who likes Apocalypse and Horror, as well as anyone who likes a good end-of-the-world epic. Brilliant.
At around noon today I started my second book of the year: Death on the Nile by Agatha Christie. I'm already half-way through it, I'm afraid to say. Maybe I should have borrowed it from the library instead of buying it after all... Anyway, I'll be back tomorrow or the next day with my review for that one. Happy reading!

2. Death on the Nile by Agatha Christie
Rating: 4.5/5
Reason: This is a great mystery, but not my favourite by Christie. I prefer And Then There Were None, but it was a good book anyway. Even though I kind of guessed the culprit near the end, it was still very satisfying. I'd recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good mystery, as long as they don't mind 'arch-type' or cliche characters.
I am now going to start reading From a Buick 8 or Lisey's Story both by Stephen King. I think I see a pattern...
