Excellent idea for a board!!

So many things to discuss!: the sense of impotence when settling down to your book only to have a loud conversation arrive and sit next to you; whether it really is possible to read properly whilst standing on said transport; the problems of remembering your stop; the temptation to continue reading once you're up and walking from your stop ...

Or what about favourite moments commuting in London? Mine: discovering Milan Kundera by spying a shhexy girl reading 'Unbearable ...' c. Goodge Street ... and therefore having to check it out in a bookshop later ...

That must be the sign of a real bibliophile - you don't try and talk to the girl, just check out what she's reading!

Welcome aboard Daviddd. I've never actually missed my stop but I usually scramble out of the doors with book still in hand just as they're closing.

Haha - why thank you. Well it seemed like an apposite way to discover Mr Kundera's books, hey!
