Megi53, You've got me. Those poets' names Cacoethes mentions during the farewell party in D.B
are anybody's guess; I don't think they come up in any of the various Keys to Kerouac characters that you can find, though e.e. cummings and WCW for the O.O. Dowd and Doctor Musial respectively sound like they might be right. I was thinking maybe Randall Jarrell for the Marshall Dashiell and we know that Henry Morley is Kerouac's real life friend, John Montgomery. As for the others....Manual Drubbing, Omar Tott, and Albert Law Livingston; perhaps someone else out there can let us know.

Thanks for answering so quickly!

I'd also like to know the equivalents of Ariadne Jones, Leontine McGee, and Dee Sampson.

Jadecar is correct that Marshall Dashiell was based on Randall Jarrell.

Here are some more:

Manual Drubbing was based on Lionel Trilling

Omar Tott was Allen Tate

Albert Law Livingston was Robert Penn Warren

Ariadne Jones was Marianne Moore

Leontine McGee was Louise Bogan, and

Dee Sampson was Jay Laughlin
