Now, stay with me on this one... Low-Wattage Rasterized Scanning Toaster.

Bored at work? Why not play Desktop Sandcastle Siege?

I really can't think why NASA hasn't snapped this one up. Glowworm powered spacecraft.

LOL! Thanks everyone! Don't distract too much, we haven't gotten her on the plane yet! I'm taking her to my parents' house in a couple of hours and then the plane leaves this evening. I think that's when I'll start looking at the links!

MrA! You found the Wizard!

Thanks again! Don't feel you have to limit yourself to cats, I'm an equal opportunity animal lover. ;o)

OK. The plane is in the air. I'm going to be pretty distracted with my other two until 6:30, but then I'm going to be able to sit down.

And think...

Did you hear about Carnival Skittles, jp?

I'm on Skittle's main site and have to distract my kid sister from the main page - talk about seizure-causing possibilities - but this page is pretty funny to see. You can grab the cars racing by.

I don't see the kind I'm looking for there. Wikipedia found it, though. Skittles Candy Cores are the weirdest things. I had some last month.

I have read all of MrA's links. Not sure I'm understanding how the low wattage toaster could be low wattage considering everything it has to do.

Spanish Animaniacs! Thanks Ren!

If you're still there Espy, I'll be in soon.

Hi JP glad I could help with the chat distraction.

Here are some soothing fluffy bunnies.

31jugglingpaynes
Feb 10, 2009, 11:16 pm

Bunnies!

I think cat is supposed to land some time in the morning, Italy time. Then they immediately start to tour. I think they're starting with the Spanish steps.

32MrAndrew
Feb 10, 2009, 11:30 pm

Bunnies!

I just got a quick call from catbastet. They are in Rome and they're really tired from walking all day. :o)

I want to thank all of you for the distractions and for everyone who stopped in to chat. It made the time pass quickly. *Hugs to my wonderful friends*

I'll keep everyone updated about her adventures!

40jugglingpaynes
Feb 11, 2009, 2:36 pm

I had a longer talk with Cat. She called at 6PM Italy time.
The plane got in at sunrise.
It was a beautiful morning and they immediately started touring Rome. She saw the Pantheon, St Agnes' Church, several fountains and obelisks, and the Carcella (I know I'm probably spelling that wrong) Bath House.

The weather got weird in the afternoon. At the Piazza Navona, it began to hail. When they got to the Trevi Fountain, there was a thunderstorm. They waited it out at a gelato stand. Cat thought it was funny how men kept coming up asking if she would like to buy an umbrella, because she was sharing my mother's. Every time she said no, they lowered the price. LOL!

41Kerian
Edited: Feb 11, 2009, 2:42 pm

It's hailing here, too.

Perhaps they'll eventually offer her an umbrella for hardly anything at all! ;) I'm glad cat's having a good time! :)

Edited because I can't spell.

#40 -- That must happen often in Italy -- I think my parents bought umbrellas in Rome when they were there a few years ago!

LMAO - that is the most disturbing thing I've seen in my entire life. It took me a few moments to figure out what it was.

Emotions: disgust, shock, horror and amused.

61jugglingpaynes
Feb 12, 2009, 9:49 pm

*sniffle* I haven't felt this way since I accidentally viewed Mapplethorpe's work. I apologize to all the people I've freaked out tonight. I should have known that a warning would make you climb over each other to see.

63jugglingpaynes

If you look through the balcony doors, you can see my husband has passed out from cleaning the litter box.

66lefty33
Feb 12, 2009, 10:19 pm

Where does Cat keep her yarn stash? The closets must be bigger than they seem.

#63 jp:
KIK! I love that picture. :)

Hmm. I missed the opportunity of being scarred for life. Should I feel left out, or be grateful? ;)

Here's a distraction. Great + ful = what spelling? My computer says 'grateful,' but everyone at my house thinks it's 'greatful.'

About grateful, I also find it interesting that a term that could mean "full of annoyance" (grating) actually means "full of gratitude". ;o)
