Bad News: I was late for my LSAT diagnostic test, and thought I tanked on the whole thing.

Good News: I actually did fairly well on the test, all things considered, and have several months to study.

Bad News: 3 1/2-odd months of studying.

Good News: WATCHMEN MOVIE IS COMING. LIFE IS WORTH LIVING.

Weird News: On my Twitter, the Republican GOP is following me. Sinister.

Lefty- I am so impressed. You are the type of organized that I can only dream of being. 8)

LadyN- Good Luck! Dating is so hard! I was never any good at it. Luckily neither was Rob. The first 'date' he ever asked me on was to the junkyard to find a part for his project car. After that there was no pressure to make a good impression on him. LOL

El- So you want to be a attorney. Neat!
CB- Have fun listening to the drumlines 8)

MsBella- I have a house to clean up too. 8( But the good news is that Rob is off tomorrow and if the house is cleaned up I can just sit around, reading without guilt while he fulfills his fatherly duties. 8)

BN- My brother and I are fighting again. *sigh*
GN- He'll get over it in a while
BN- Considering we are fighting over me homeschooling the kids (ruining them, don't you know) and my other lifestyle choices, we'll get into another fight soon enough.

Bad News: My feet hurt from work. It was really tiring today. I only slept for 5 hours (I went to bed at 1:30AM because my sister Megan needed help making a video application for a job in Australia.) Then I woke up at 6:30. Got to work at 7. Checked 2 people out. Then my manager was like "Ok, you can go on break since we're so slow." I could've slept longer =/
Good News: I don't work tomorrow.
Good News: I sewed for awhle yesterday. I fixed my parents' curtains (they were about 8 inches too long) and fixed my friend's shirt.

25Mysterion
Feb 22, 2009, 5:21 pm

>24 mindylou182:: I must say, it shows dedication on your sister's part that she is making the application in Australian time (5:30pm). Or she's so confident that she is already adjusting to the timezone change.

Same material in the curtains and shirt? I'm thinking The Sound Of Music.

26biblioholic29
Feb 22, 2009, 5:30 pm

GN: The volunteer appreciation is over and I don't have to deal with it anymore.

#16 Chelsea: CHELSEA!!!! *runs and hugs.* We've missed you! If I lived in the US, I would totally ask you for your cell phone number cuz I got one for christmas, but alas, texting would probably be pretty expensive.....

GN: There was tons of packy snow so my friend and I had a 2 1/2 hour snowball fight against her brother and his friend....pretty good stuff.
BN: I'm exhausted now.
GN: No homework for the weekend.

28kirbyowns
Feb 22, 2009, 6:49 pm

BN: I think I broke another toe. It's still hurts from when I stubbed it on Thursday.
BN: Our dryer went out last Saturday. We ordered a new one. It was supposed to be here on Tuesday, then Thursday, now tomorrow.
BN: Our garage door broke a spring (a 6 foot long one), and the door is very heavy. Someone is supposed to come look at it tomorrow.

I've got a little funny news, but you'll have to see the picture to understand. I'll post later.

#27 ALINA!!! *hugs* LOL I wish!

Good news: I remembered more news.

Bad news: On Valentine's Day, my "sister's" little brother got hit by a car while riding his bike to find their neighbors lost dog. He was riding up the hill and the car was going down. It was sooo scary.

Good news: He's okay!!!!!!!!! He only had some bumps and bruises and a few cuts on his head. This happened at like 2:30pm and he went home at 8:00pm.

I was so scared when this happened. I asked if he was okay at 3:00pm and my friend didn't text me back till 5:30. I was worried something really bad happened. I'm so happy he's alive!!!

#10 LadyN:
I'm glad you had a good date! Hope Wednesday's is just as great. :)

#16 Chelsea:
I think I remember you wanting text messaging. That was very nice of your mom. :)

#23 MEM:
My sisters and I get into little fights all the time. I hope thinks patch up soon.

#26 bib:
I'm sorry to hear you burned yourself! Do you have something to put on it? *hugs*

#28 kirby:
Ouch! What happened this time? How is your first broken toe doing?

#29 Chelsea:
Glad your friend's brother is okay! That is pretty scary.

#31 jp:
Ekk. That many pictures! Someone must have had such a wonderful time! :)

Bad news: My right foot and arm were trapped between the doors of an elevator with broken sensors today. It was hurting me and wouldn't let me go.

Very Good news: Obvious and yet I am so relieved over. I somehow eventually freed myself of that horrible thing.

No broken bones. Just bumped and forming bruises. Obviously also sore. Oh my goodness. Nightmare. It will be a long time before I can put a limb through closing elevator doors again. This is what I get for always liking the elevators as a kid and being terrified of escalators.

Oh, and lesson: Don't punch an elevator. It doesn't help. I also regret apologizing to the crowd after because I had been screaming and cursing when stuck. One of those people could have been human and helped me.

35MellieT
Feb 23, 2009, 7:11 am

BN: I am soooo tired
BN: I have to go to work.
GN: I found out that I can do my homework while the kiddies are sleeping at naptime.
GN: That will pass the time somewhat quickly
GN: Then I will be able to come home to my nice clean apartment.
GN: I really mean clean! I did a lot yesterday!

#34: Sorry and hugs again K!

#35: Bella I'm sorry you're tired and that you have to go to work.

#36: kirby I'm glad the first toe is better now.

GN: I'm quitting my job! (For a big number of reasons)
GN: I will have more time for college and I would be making more money giving classes on my own.
GN/BN: I will miss some of the people I work I'm just glad I won't be seeing some of them anymore.
GN: No Bad News :D

38jugglingpaynes
Feb 23, 2009, 10:58 am

K, next time try yelling "POSSESSED PIPE ORGAN!!!" Maybe they would notice. ;o)

I'm glad you are OK. I once got my finger stuck in an elevator, but I had relatives with me that quickly got the doors open. Consider that the people inside probably didn't realize the sensor was broken and how painful that must have been. (yes, I like to give people the benefit of the doubt). I've also fumbled trying to figure out where the stupid open doors button is when someone yells to hold the elevator. They may have been trying to help. You never know.

I had a blast this weekend. I went out for drinks (my, my, my did I look spiffy in my new dress from Anthropologie) and then I went to Comic Strip to watch some really amazing stand up comedians, it was the most I have laughed since.... since the last time I went to see stand up comedy. Everything was perfect. I was wonderfully drunk and giggly...

Bad news:.... so giggly that I dropped my gorge wallet in my friends car. I am completely destitute! I don't have my credit card, I don't have ANYTHING!!! I had to buy a $4 metrocard with QUARTERS!!! Do you know how long I have to save to get $4 in change?? I never use cash. bwaaaaah! I"m so miserable!

#36 kirby:
Yep. I have lost some faith in the goodness of random people you see throughout the day. If I had been an observer to that you can bet I would have ran to that elevator and tried to pry the doors off the person. I'm scrawny but I still would have tried. Those people....they say they don't care about anyone except themselves.
You can't remember which dog you were getting a toy for, or which toe? I'm sorry you have another one broken! Very glad they heal fast and that your other is healed so it's just one right now and not two.

#37 Ron:
Thank you! *hugs back* I'm sorry your job didn't work out.

#38 JP:
If only I'd seen those were the magical words to say. ;) Thanks, and ouch for your finger! How old were you when it happened?
The buttons were beside me to the right. I mostly hit the button myself with my left hand but imagine another woman may have at some point. It wasn't responding either for some reason.

#39 riss:
I'm sorry about your ribs! Hopefully it was a one-time thing. *hug*

#43 kirby:
Oh, dear. Can't say I haven't seen it happen. Fiona is put on a leash every night, sort of a comfort and security thing for her. The leash gets chewed on in the morning if she isn't let off right away.

#46 suge:
Glad you had such a great weekend! The gorgeous wallet isn't that yellow one, is it? Does this mean you got another wallet? I'm sorry your wallet was left in the car. At least it wasn't a cab. Remember Berry the first. Does your friend live or work close enough to you that you can get your wallet today?

*plugs her ears from the screaming* ;)

Good news: I fully expected bruising by now but my arm just has red marks. Both my arm and foot hurt and that is all.

57suge
Feb 23, 2009, 3:25 pm

Are you saying that my yellow wallet wasn't pretty??? Because my sister gave that to me.

Yes I have a new wallet:

Sob I remember berry 1 I left him in a cab poor baby. I'm getting my wallet today after work

incase the pic doesn't work you can see my wallet in all its glory

58Kerian
Feb 23, 2009, 3:46 pm

And the driver...So guilty! Totally stole it on purpose. Sorry for the reminder.

Your yellow wallet, um...Oh my goodness, you got a new wallet! It's beautiful, you are absolutely right about it being gorgeous. Is that what you paid for it or was it another price?

I want to go purse shopping. I'm too picky about them, though. They have to have the right pockets, and at least be able to hold a trade-size book, of course.

Good news!:
I bought a rice necklace online last week and it's here! It doesn't look as good as it did online and I don't think it was worth the $30 spent but it wasn't supposed to be about what it looks like. It has other value. It's heart-shaped, has April's birthstone and a violet inside, and the grain of rice says Loofy. I miss my baby. :(

59suge
Feb 23, 2009, 3:56 pm

it sounds lovely K.

Ah, I will tell my sister all you haven't said about the yellow wallet that she gave me. One of the few things she has ever given me and you "um...." it. I'm prodigiously proud of my not so new wallet. No thats not the price I paid for it. So I'm a little pissed.

60Kerian
Feb 23, 2009, 4:07 pm

No, no! I was happy the day I found out she gave you a wallet. I knew you didn't have one and that you don't carry much cash. It made me feel a lot better that she did that. I had worried before about what would happen if you left your card in a pocket or something.

Paid more than that then? It's a bidding thing. I bet it will go up, especially now that you've linked it. Even I want to bid on it. I just think it's funny to have the same wallet as someone you know, so I'm not.

BN: my date from Saturday (who from now on shall be called C, if reference is necessary) isn't able to meet on Wednesday after all.
GN: We're meeting on saturday instead.
GN: We've been texting a lot.
BN: I feel like such an awkward big gorky giant. This is when I get the panics, respond badly to compliments and make men not want to see me anymore because I'm sooooooooo bad at the dating thing. Blah.

JP, is the clog in your drain excess hair (yes, I know. It sounds gross) We had the same problem a bit ago and tom pulled a huge ball of hair out of the drain. Now the tub drains fine.

GN: I was sent to another location for work today.
GN: I love that location. The other teachers were wonderfully nice and the kids are so good and lovey. They even gave me hugs! ANd the center is only 2-5 minutes from my house!
BN: I am going into my location tomorrow.
BN: I am asking for a transfer to the other center.
GN: I am asking for a transfer to the other center.
It is bad news too because I am afraid to talk to my boss about the transfer because I know she is going to make me feel guilty about wanting it. and I am a sucker for the guilt trips. However the other center offered me more hours and more money. 40 + hours a week! And I would get to be a co-head teacher!

91> I'm reasonably certain it's hair. No matter what you do, some gets down the drain. My mistake was not taking care of it when it was slow. And at this point it's in too far for the plunger to unstick it. I'm thinking I need a bigger plunger. :-O

BTW MsB, I'm glad you liked the other location. I hope you get the transfer.

#91 Bella:
Thank you. Sadly, that is normal now. It has to do with a group of my co-workers. They've been playing stupid games with me.
I really hope the transfer works out! It sounds like it would be wonderful. Good luck!

Feb 24, 2009, 8:40 pm

#91 -- Don't feel bad about asking for the transfer. Switching to a location that's closer to your home, where you would be making more money and getting more hours and more responsibility, is obviously the best thing for you. Be confident! :-) (I know, easy for me to say, right?) I hope you get it!

#92 -- I feel your pain, JP. The one main thing that is less than ideal about this house is the plumbing. A plumber who looked at it shortly after I moved in said that, really, the best thing to do would be to completely re-plumb the house. Ha, ha! Silly plumber! So instead we are just vigilant with the drain cleaners and keep the plunger on hand.

BN: I have not gotten everything done that I intended to do today.
GN: The day is not technically over yet!

Awww K I'm sorry have you been looking for another job? Or is there another B&BW close to you? I will come and visit and straighten them all out!

JP, Thanks for the luck! I am hoping she will just say ok and leave it at that.

Foggi, I know I shouldn't feel bad, especially since the director of my center has been ignoring my pleas for help with the evil co-worker. But I really like my assistant director, she is great and I feel bad for leaving her. I know they are going to be a little mad. But they can replace me. I have only been there 3 days after all.

#91: Good luck with the transfer Bella...I second Foggi's opinion that it is the most logical decision and you shouldn't feel guilty since they really haven't been nice to you and they really didn't make you feel welcomed....

#92: Sorry for your clogging JP...we had a clogging here in my house and we used a product and left it for a few days and then it was better...maybe you can find a similar product....

GN: I'm giving my resignation letter tomorrow afternoon.
BN: I still have to work one more month there.
GN: I just have to work there one month and that's it!
GN: I'm soon to begin college again after waiting a whole year for the transfer to take place.
GN: I went to the swimming pool with some friends and then went to a friend's house and had fondue.

P.S. Happy Belated Carnival to everyone!

Thanks for all the advice. The clog is no more. After a lot of research, I picked up Kleer Drain at Home Depot. It's a plunger and compressed air bomb rolled into one. I so recommend it. Five seconds and the drain was clear. And only a little bit of splash when the compressed air shot the duct tape off of the overflow drain. (They tell you to duct tape it so that the air goes where it's supposed to.) To think how much chemicals I've poured in there over the years and all the plunging I've done.

I feel so fulfilled.

I haven't been looking for another job, but there really aren't jobs here. Businesses, companies, etc - it comes down to everything - are downsizing and closing like mad all through the bay area and clear out in the valley. The worst part is that it's highly suspected by the police to have been stolen by a friend of the guy she rents a room from. They know him and his friends very well. Good/Bad News:
I just saw my next paycheck online (I can see them early by a few days) and it's higher than it was supposed to be. I checked the rate and my boss forgot to lower my pay to it's old rate after I had my temporary supervisor position. How much trouble does that make me in? He did that for the last one, too, but the co-manager told me she didn't think he was capable of changing the rate mid pay period so I didn't worry about it then. Oh, this will be funny. I can walk into work and say, "Will you please lower my pay rate like you were supposed to?"

172jugglingpaynes
Feb 26, 2009, 11:00 pm

It might be better to try to fall asleep with the thought of directing yourself into a good dream. When you overtire yourself, your body makes up for the lack of REM (rapid eye movement) sleep by making you dream more. Which means you have more chance for a nightmare. It's also good to talk out the nightmare. It helps you to figure out why you are having it. My scariest dreams always happen when I feel like I am at a turning point in my life. Fear of change, fear of forgetting something important, fear of failure, can all represent themselves in nightmares.

173Kerian
Edited: Feb 26, 2009, 11:06 pm

Perhaps look at a dream dictionary online before going to bed.

Don't feel bad about waking your cats to pet them in the middle of the night. They're better comforters than your bedding. :)

I've never seen or heard "quitted" used except by someone still learning (young children have a hard time learning irregular verbs). it may be used in other english-speaking countries, but not here or england.

>#177: http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/quit

The past tense of quit is now quit for most speakers and writers; dictionaries usually allow quitted as an alternative, but it is rare or nonexistent in North America and Australia, and outnumbered by quit by about 16 to 1 in the British National Corpus. Quitted is more commonly used to mean "left". ie. She quitted her job.

English está loco.

None because that's a cycle and cycles don't have a beginning nor an ending :P

183Mysterion
Feb 27, 2009, 12:40 am

Not true.
Cycle beginning:

Cycle ending:

However, you are correct about this cycle. It appears to have neither a beginning nor an ending. It's the pushme-pullyou of cycles.

184kirbyowns

It looks to have 2 ends.

185jugglingpaynes
Feb 27, 2009, 9:09 am

Or two beginnings. :o)

You should have posted a unicycle. That truly has no beginning or end.

Makes me think of when I taught cat and other kids how to ride a unicycle. They would start pedaling too fast and get scared and I would have to explain that if they want to stop, they simply have to stop pedaling. They were looking for the brake.

Bad news: I was going to sleep in today and was rudely awakened by a construction crew that wanted me to move our cars so they could dig a hole in our driveway. My neighbors are moving a gas line. I had no idea they're renovations would affect me. I hope they appreciate my effort.

Good news: We never got around to paving our driveway last year. I would be much more upset if they were digging up a newly paved driveway. And dirt doesn't require jackhammers. Gosh I'm tired. What time is it?

Weird and slightly Creepy News: When we came in this morning we discovered that one of the other tenants of the office building we're in forgot to lock the deadbolt last night, so someone got into the breezeway. They left a plastic bag with some coupons, a pen and some pictures from an elementary school Thanksgiving play. On the back of the pictures were written...well I can't reproduce most of them, but they seemed to revolve around the person's desire to...nope can't say it, too creepy. Anyway, I called the police and handed everything over to them, but I'm pretty weirded out. Thankfully, I have...

Good News: I'm going to a fundraiser at a local high school tonight. I book sale! $7/bag. I'm planning to get there right as it starts so I can get the best selection.

Great News: I just bought my tickets for my cousin's wedding the first weekend in May, which means that I will be in NorCal in a couple months. NorCal people, set aside Sunday May 3rd if you can, so we can hang!

#186 bib:

#187 Mandy:
How exciting!

Good news: Someone's going away this weekend so the house will be a little more at ease. I might have tomorrow off work, too, and one of my cousins who I don't get to see much of is going to be in the area.

189biblioholic29
Feb 27, 2009, 1:56 pm

I don't think Mandy will be coming with me. She and her hubby have to go to Scotland this summer for a family funeral thing on his side, so I think she's skipping the cousin weddings. If she does end up going, she'd be more likely to go to our other cousin's wedding which is in July.

#190: I'm sorry pico. I didn't mean to be so subtle! It's my habit to talk to all of you as if you were here with me and could follow my train of thought. Then again, my family can't always follow my train of thought, so why do I expect more of my friends? :o)

#188: Ah K, don't be so hard on my neighbors. They're good people. The gas company was doing the work, my neighbors may not have known they would dig on our side of the street. I was more upset over the lack of sleep. I'm going to need to go to bed at a reasonable hour if no one is going to let me sleep in. And that makes me sad, because that's when it usually gets rowdy around here.

#213: I assumed we were talking about the FAFSA.

So I just got back from the used bookstore. I love my used bookstore. They'll take any of your books (unless they're, like, gross). They make you an account and you get 1/4 of the original price of the book added to your account (so I turned in 20 books today and made $42). All their used books are half the original price of the book, but when you have money in your account half of that comes from there and then you pay cash for the rest. So, I bought 6 more books today for $13. Added bonus, they actually care about the organization of their books, it's categorized and alphabetized in a way that makes sense. It's a magical place.

Some Bad news from last night at work: Someone ordered something to go on the phone. I took the order. They got pasta, but I forgot to ask if they wanted marinara or alfredo sauce. So my manager was like "When they come to the window ask them which one they want" and she left the pasta out of the bag and left the bag untied. So when the people came, I didn't realize it was the pasta person so I didn't ask... so I didn't put the pasta in there. Then they called so I told them they could come get it and I apologized for forgetting it. Then when he got there, I apologized again and he said, "Is Tom the owner?" and I said "Yes." And he was like "Well this is the 3rd time in a row something has been forgotten. Who took my order?" So I told him I did. And so he said "Well this is the 3rd time. Whats your name?" So I gave him my name and he wrote it down. I'm kind of nervous to see what happens...

and note that it was the first time I have ever forgotten something for an order. So its not like I was the one that messed up his order all 3 times. So I'm a little nervous...

GN: We're taking them to the vet tomorrow for treatment.
BN: Each treatment costs $25 and this is the second time they need treatment. So technically, we've payed $50 and tomorrow we'll pay another $50. This really annoys me since the OSPCA is usually pretty good at eliminating ear mites. The vet said that I could call them and ask the to have my money back (which would now total $100) but I feel bad doing that. Our branch is really in need of money as it is. They have a small wooden...shed I guess you could call it, as a main office, and cages for the dogs outside. Oh and they have a fenced area for dogs also. And then they have a trailer (RV type) where they keep another desk and they keep the cats in their cages and guinea pigs and other small animals. My dad says I should still ask money back, but I don't think I will since I'll feel too guilty. :(

BN: I haven't been able to sleep in for several days now.
BN: It's because poor Gracie is having *ahem* doggy issues and keeps chewing her diaper off around six am because she is awake and bored and no one else is around to amuse her.
GN: The noise wakes up Missie who is allowed to share Gracie's bed (LOL) so there aren't any messes beyond ripped cotton.
BN: I have to get up and redo the diaper.
GN: Now we have a more accurate age estimate.
GN: I will be making a vet appointment soon so I will never again have to go through this! YAY!
BN: I had to explain to Missie that I was taking away Gracie's right to have children. Missie was not very happy. I can't decide whether it is because she had visions of puppy wonder dancing in her head or because Gracie won't ever actually get be a Mommy.
BN: I now have a good dose of guilt over spaying the darn dog!

edited to add another good news: I have now proven that I can diaper anything ANYTHING in less than a minute... even a big dog that hates to wear diapers! LOL

252rissa

don't feel guilty about spaying her, there are enough puppies in the world without homes that her not having puppies is a good thing.

The 'Mary' part of me has no problem whatsoever with it. It's the 'Mommy' part of me that just can't stand to see them big ol' eyes so sad and dejected. LOL Luckily Mary hit Mommy over the head and stuffed her in a closet before she could make promises about puppies that she would later come to regret. 8) But it was a close thing...

Don't feel bad! Rissa has a very good point, for both cats and dogs. There are worse things. The worst thing for me was taking away the one kitten of Slinky's that we gave away. I felt like a complete monster to poor Slinky because of stealing her baby. I couldn't face her for a week afterward. That's the hard part!

Hi all!

Man, I've got a lot of posts to catch up on!

Mem - You're doing absolutely the right thing re:Gracie, for all the reasons already cited. Don;t beat yourself up about it. :-)

Ms_B - Hurrah for new bookshelves! What a lovely Tom you have! All the best for the new center as well!

GN: I had a lovely second date weekend with the boy. We do seem to be very similar, so it'll be nice to see if it goes anywhere. He loves old bookshops, and is writing a novel trilogy and a collection of short stories.

BN: This week is stupidly busy, so I may not be around LT much. Have a gig tonight, work tomorrow, theatre Wednesday, portrait unveiling on Thursday (not my portriat - one of my friends is an artist), work Friday, theatre Saturday... ARGH!! How diod I let this happen?

GN: Next week is much more civilised.

LadyN: We are going to miss you during your busy week!

BN: Tom is on his way to work... I am worried about him cause the roads look really bad.
JN: I am waiting to see if my center is closed.
GN: If it is not it is only a two minute drive from my apartment

Update:
Great News: Tom made it to work OK.
BN: It took him and hour and a half to make a 45 min drive
BN:I am pretty sure that my center isn't closed.
BN/GN:I am now getting ready for work because I am giving myself a half hour to make a two minute drive.
Hope everyone has a great day

#248 JP are you sure that's Latin? In French "et tu" is "you too" or, more literally "and you." Just curious because then I can say I know Latin too. ;)

#251: I feel your pain. When we brought Knick Knack to the vet and decided on the spot to spay her, I had loads of guilt from my six year old and her friend ("don't you like kittens?") But now that we have a sixth cat muscling his way into our lives, I have no qualms about my decision. If more people were responsible, there would be less throw away pets.

#257: French and Spanish both come from Latin. This is why they are considered Romance languages (Romans, get it?). They evolved from Latin. That is why you have tu in Spanish and French. And why once you know one of them, the others are easier to learn.

The other Latin languages are Italian, Romanian, and Portuguese. Wiki also lists Catalan. I don't know that one.

Thanks all for the support. Whew! Missie can sound sooooo reasonable and at the same time make me sound soooooo unreasonable sometimes. She can push a button like no one else can, that's for sure.

Now I have a dilemma, should I go with my plumbing/heating people who have really good about coming out this winter and only billing me once for it, or should I go with my air conditioning guy who also does heating and has really stood by his air conditioner when it isn't working well and needs maintenance work about twice a summer?

Tres bad news. Why didn't they tell you when you called them? They should have. I hate when the person you talk to about something is oblivious to what is really going on. Did you preorder? They surely can't give your copy away at the midnight release party if you preorder a copy.

Of course I can't know for sure, but it's possible that the home office just made the announcement to the stores today. New announcements about events go out daily at Borders.

Bib that is exactly what happened. The announcement came literally five minutes before I bought my latte and saw the print-out (I was looking for a coupon, so I always check the second receipt). You can only imagine my distress. I didn't pre-order nor reserve a copy. My drama comes from them not having enough dvd's to meet the demand. I was told I would be ok if I just show up early. Why are they having a party if frack it all no one at the party will be able to get a dvd. frak frak frak. They have to know that the popularity of this series alone would guarantee a huge turnover for them. frackers. I'll be there at 7.45 am on the 20th and if they don't have a copy for me goth help me!!! I will burn their store down!!!! (I will of course come back and erase this message at he time). And then I will boycott them!!!!

I'm sorry I went ballisticus earlier. I am slightly more calm now tho.

No need to be worried, N. I'm usually more happy go lucky about stuff, but this is TWILIGHT so it brings out the worst in me when me someone is trying to stop me from getting my Twilight-on. Also, you know I never take anything seriously. This has to be a first, right? I need a drink.....

BN: Their ears were just really dirty (Well, Elvy's were)
BN: So they had to squirt this cleansing liquid and rub with a cotton swab. She looked so annoyed afterwards, with her ears laid flat and all wet...
GN/FN: The vet is ordering these claw protectors for us. Well, they acutally protect the furniture, but they're plastic molds that go over the claws of the cat. The cats can still do scratching on the post and normal kitty activities, but they don't damage the furniture anymore. I told them to order either pink or purple ones so their claws would match their collars!!!

Bad news: This has all bummed me out. Plus, I know something that my boss doesn't know that I know. I will be the deliverer of bad news for someone who has been worried about him, which makes me feel awful. A part of me wants to say something to my boss but I know I cannot. It isn't my place to.

Since we've cut down 2 more trees in our front yard (they were badly damaged in the ice storm and we're replacing them with stronger trees), I have to take the boys to the back yard. Which is fine. Except at night. When strange noises come from the woods. Like foot steps of some unknown animal. That could jump out at any time. In the dark.......

Ack! I had 'puter problems yesterday and now I'm really far behind. I will work on catching up.

GN: I'm getting my new vehicle tomorrow to replace my truck. It's a new to me Expedition. I'm not too hot on Fords, being a Chevy kind of girl but the thing can seat 8 which is what I wanted. 8) So excited! I've been without transportation for a month whenever Rob is at work. I still miss my truck. Though, even I have to admit that it's sad when a huge SUV still gets better gas mileage than my truck did. 8^/

#322 Luna:
I'm sorry you weren't feeling well yesterday. How exciting, though - new kittens. How long after they're born will they be going to their new homes? I think a kitten I gave away last year was maybe two-ish months old.

#323 suge:
That was nice of him!

Bad news, but not for me:
My sister hasn't seen her roommate around for an entire week. We're hoping he's not in a hospital. (He has a medical condition.) The really bad part on top of that is he has the absolute sweetest cat in the world that is hungry, lonely, and has no one to take care of him. (I met him on Saturday, can you tell? ;)
Good news:
My sister has been letting him into her part of the house (she only rents a room with it's own entrance) and been feeding him. She wants to either bring him to our house or borrow one of our cats so he'll have a friend because she can't be there much on weekdays. Neither is much an option. I would so bring him home if I could, though! :(

#328 K, RE: #317- Yes we have a light, but it doesn't reach to the woods. Dad also just changed it to a motion sensor light, so when you're out of range it goes off. I need to put a flash light by the door so I don't forget it. I have one by the front door, but it's going out.

330Kerian
Mar 4, 2009, 2:57 pm

I hate that about motion sensor lights. We have one in each of our yards as well. It definitely wouldn't hurt to have two flashlights, one by each door. If you get to be really concerned, I would even consider putting another form of light up but further from the house into your yard.

I keep a small flashlight in my purse on the days that I work at night just in case. I don't use it but it's a comfort. I joke that I can hit someone over the head with it if need be.

#312 cat: Ya, I got some wax, and it stays on pretty well. But I have one question though...well, several actually, all concerning the wax. Does it matter if you swallow it, like, will anything happen to you? Can you eat with it on? Can you sleep with it on?

GN: Weather was warm-er.
BN: I think I'm getting a cold. Hopefully not though.*crosses fingers*

I'm going to answer for or in addition to cat answering your questions. :)
Nothing will happen to you if you swallow the wax. Don't worry. I do advise removing it before eating, but simply because who wants to eat wax? (Now I am thining of people eating candles. You know, the kind that people say are good enough to eat. ;) You can definitely sleep with the wax on your braces. Make sure it's on your braces really good.
I hope you have a great time on Friday! :)

Thanx K! The questions weren't directed to anyone specifically, I was just looking for advice. But thanks a lot, I was worrying about what would happen if I swallowed it. And I get the mental picture of someone's mouth being wide open and eating a candle. hehehe

Mar 4, 2009, 11:32 pm

pico, if you swallow the wax your stomach will dissolve it, and some of it may be digested, but there is absolutely nothing that will happen to you if you swallow it. in fact, there is actually wax on or in several foods you eat already. I would take the wax off when you eat, unless there is a spot that is rubbing really painfully, in which case you can just make sure that it's on really well.

The SAT-10 (or 8 or 9 tests) are also given during school sessions. These are grade level tests given throughout the state, as well as end of course exams (also know as EOC exams). SAT tests take anywhere from 2-5 days depending on the grade level and what the state mandates to be tested.

Thank you, LadyN. I hope so, too. She is so much thinner than her sister. Granted, they have different hair types so that's one of the reasons. However, it makes her look like a younger kitten. She is running around playing like mad so she seems content. She isn't good at letting people know if she's in discomfort though, an example being when she had problems with her mouth in the past. Her lip was periodically swollen but a vet treated it and it's been absent ever since. We're going to try some cat sip (milk for cats). If she drinks it perhaps it is a tooth problem.

Great News: My friend and I are participating in the regional science fair. It's on April 4th, and we weren't sure what to do. We wanted it be something about horses, but we couldn't figure out what. Well, yesterday I was browsing through my horse encyclopedia and guess what page I landed on? The page that explains the horses senses! So we decided we'd test her horse's sense of smell by covering her (the horse's) eyes and holding an apple or something some distance away. As soon as the horse got within a meter of us, we'd move further. We figured at the same time we'd be testing the horse's sense of hearing too. Then we'll record our observations and make a backboard and all!!!

Just a thought, pico, but wouldn't it be easier to do something like hide the apple in a box? You could test whether the horse can tell which of several boxes the apple is in and you could double box or wrap the apple to see how well the horse can sense it through multiple layers. I just think it would be safer than trying to lead a blindfolded horse.

Don't worry LadyN. I missed it too, and they're not spilling the beans about it.

Thanks everyone! Yes bib, I am fully prepared to spoil them. They're not my kids. ;)

I don't know what you guys are searching for, but this is the 1st image when I googled twins:

Do you live far from them kirby? Because the farther away you are, the harder you have to work to spoil them. My nephews are in CA. I don't think I'm spoiling them enough.

Mar 9, 2009, 12:12 pm

Yes, very far. It's about a 31 hour drive. Google Maps says that I could get there in 28 days and 13 hours if I walk.

409Mandy2
Mar 9, 2009, 1:03 pm

408: is that all? no problem...start walking they'll see you in less than a month!!

Mar 9, 2009, 1:21 pm

Good point about the being far away. While Mandy and I certainly do buy him stuff to spoil him, I think he's even more happy that we're practically his puppets. He decides something he did deserves applause, so he starts clapping and looks at Mandy and me, who immediately join in...that sort of thing. We're well rewarded with hugs and blown kisses though!

Aw, I remember when my kids were that cute! He sounds like he is in my very favorite stage!

#408-You made me curious. It's about a 42 hour drive to get to my sister. I wonder if they allow for bathroom breaks?

413biblioholic29
Mar 9, 2009, 1:28 pm

#411: Definitely! I used to teach day care and he's currently at the age I taught most often, which is the toddler stage. He's 17-months-old at the moment, that age where he seems to learn something new everyday. Most recently he's started joining in with the E-I-E-I-O part of Old MacDonald. He's also very into dogs and bears. This weekend he got to spend a lot of time with Mandy's dog Pepper, who is one of those dogs who's ridiculously good with kids. They were adorable! She let him pet her belly and he wanted to give her lots of hugs. At one point they both just leaned in and put their foreheads together for a moment. Unfortunately, no one managed to get a picture!

Mar 9, 2009, 1:38 pm

She's exhausted now though, while she great with kids, she also needs to investigate every noise he made espicially that bad ones. "sniff sniff, looks around ummm people he doesn't seem ok someone fix him!" Of course she was usually what helped him forget he was upset.

377---> I saw that a few months ago and it freak me out too. I'm an avid lover of horror films. I consider myself pretty tough to scare (on film DONOT SNEAK UP ON ME AND SAY "BO!" You know what will happen), but there was something about that film that got to me.

GOOOOOOOOD NEWSSSSSSSSSS: I GOT MY BONUS!!! I GOT MY BONUS!!!!!!!!!

BN: The IRS got almost half of it. The smurfers.....

Congrats aunt Kirby!!!!

#388 JP: Hmmm, that is a really good idea! I told my friend about my concerns that the horse might panic, and she said she could desensitibilize it or something. I asked her what it meant and she said if for example you tied a horse's feet together, you worked around it until the horse was comfortable with it. So we'd work until her horse was comfy with being blindfolded. But your idea's a really good one JP, thanx!

GN: I rearranged my room!

#416 bib:
Thank you! My kittens were born on Easter last year. I stupidly realize now this is not like how my sister whose birthday is on Halloween will always fall on Halloween. *googles* Okay, their birthday is March 23rd. I feel so silly now.

#420 suge:
I know you said smurfers but I know you too well and can hear you saying something else in my head. ;) I'm sorry they stole half your bonus, but yey, a bonus! :)

Bad news:
I almost lost my work money today because someone I wish to call an idiot filled a box with products in it with empty cardboard pieces that were in tight. Since this is something we normally do with empty boxes, I took it to be put outside.
Good news:
The box fell. And voila. Products on the floor, no longer causing shrink. I couldn't believe someone was that unintelligent. I've told someone about it to speak with that person about it so it won't happen again.

BN: My knuckles (left hand, middle and ring finger) are bruised. I took Finnegan's leash off and the metal part whipped back and hit me. It's one of those retractable leashes.

GN: The swelling has gone down.

GN: We got our report cards today and my average in 87.8%.

BN: I haven't gone up either.
GN: I'm still above average!

Bad news: I ate part of a cookie not knowing there was coconut in it.
Good news: Maybe, just maybe it is shrimp that I'm so allergic to. I had both one night over the summer and never found out which caused an allergic reaction.
Fingers are crossed, though the allergies are nothing serious compared to the allergies of some people.

BN: My Computer crashed last thursday (this is why I have been MIA)
BN: I can't get ahold of my computer guy. Therefore I am not sure when I will be able to get back online.
BN: This means I can't do my homework either, and I miss you guys so much!!!!!
GN: I have been spending the time I am usually online reading.

Thats all the good news. I just wanted to pop in real quick and let you guys know what happened and say hi and I miss you all! Hope to be on again soon but only time will tell xoxo

BN: My best friend hates me because i dont like Twilight :((((

447picolina
Mar 16, 2009, 9:36 pm

Aww, I'm sorry to hear that puppet. I have friends that think I'm weird cuz I like HP (they claim they just "weren't able to get into it" when I'm sure they haven't even given it a shot.) It sucks but trust me, it'll pass. Just don't say stuff that might insult her, like "Twilight sucks." or "I can't believe you like those stupid books." Maybe if you found books or movies that you both love and talked about them you'd find you similarities instead of your differences.

448puppetmaster101
Mar 18, 2009, 6:28 pm

thanks, picolina. I was crying when i wrote that, but now were good. I aways say "Twilight sucks". Heh heh but she knows that i dont like it. Her friends started beating up on me, me pushing back, but my friend kept with her other friends. i was so mad, but were ok :))
