CHRIS WEITZ WILL NOT DIRECT THIRD FILM, 'ECLIPSE'
Feb 20, 2009, 08:19 PM | by Joshua Rich

Source: http://hollywoodinsider.ew.com/2009/02/twilight-chris.html

Chris Weitz will not direct the third film in the Twilight series, Eclipse, a source close to the production tells EW.com exclusively. Because New Moon, which Weitz is helming, and Eclipse are due to be released so close together (on Nov. 20, 2009, and June 30, 2010, respectively), Weitz will be in post-production on New Moon at the same time that Eclipse will be shooting. That said, the source confirms a report that the movies will not be shot simultaneously or back-to-back; there will be a brief gap between the production of both films. (Reporting by Adam B. Vary)

Oops, I thought it was June 20th. They should have got a female director for New Moon and a male one for Eclipse would have been fine. But - eh :)

I wish they'd invite Catherine Hardwicke back for Eclipse.

Hmm ... for the life of me I can't figure out what word you mean by persis, M&M. At first, I thought persistent, but it doesn't fit. I like figuring out misspelled words (am odd that way I guess), but gee, that's a toughie.

...hmmm are they getting a new director for every movie? if so...then each movie is going to be really different from each other...look at when they changed the directors for Harry Potter...it changed from being almost identical to the book to totally off.

^ they did say that they want to change directors for every movie. They said something like, "Look at the HP movies, they have a new director for each movie." So I guess they're trying to get the same sort of flow.

I'm not keen on the HP movies for that reason. Though there are elements to them I love, some parts were ruined for me. I loved the first two and felt Christopher Columbus should have directed all the others. I've no doubt he would have kept Dobby in too. :(

22: I love Dobby :)

Me too. I thought Winky would get past her tale of woe and do something heroic in the end, but alas, she never did so she was the weakest character in the series for me. I don't see the point of her because of that so totally understand why she wasn't in the movies. Dobby, on the other hand, was a strong character and I say that with tissues handy. I cried my eyes out when he died.

^ ME TOO! He was such a hero. He loved Harry so much and he died saving him! Pretty much everyone that Harry ever loved died; mum, dad, godfather, Dobby, Dumbledor (am I spelling that right? Oh my Gosh, I can't spell Dumbledor anymore!), Fred (or was it Geogre?) and I'm sure I'm missing a few. Poor Harry :( Poor Dobby :(

Dumbledore is the correct spelling. It was Fred who died. You missed his faithful companion, Hedwig. I cried when he died as well. Moody was another although he didn't exactly love him.

^ Thanks :) Haven't read them for YONKS. Oh, yes, Hedwig!!!!! I loved that owl. He was, in fact, really Harry's best friend. Moody was alright just hugely creepy.

You should read The Guardians of Ga'Hoole series. It's about owls and they're really cute. It's reminiscent of the 7th Harry Potter book as both remind me of Hitler brainwashing the Nazis so they resembled wooden puppets, ready to do his bidding and those who didn't wish to follow in his footsteps. It's so good I give it five stars. :)

WAHHHH! I was devastated when Dobby and Hedwig and Fred died. Also when Sirius died. :(

Ok don't get me started on how upset I was with the deaths in HP.

Mar 19, 2009, 9:33 pm

Woo, another ending ruined!! Man I was like ten chapters away from finishing it. Oh well. I was sad when Sirius died in the fifth movie. I shed a little tear. My favorite part was when HP got possesed by Voldemort.

I think I cried hardest for Dumbledore of course and then I cried for Hedwig a lot. I loved Hedwig. He was a good owl :)

Message 33: Don't worry, I was getting kinda bored with the book anyways. So no worries. Normally a book that size it takes me only a couple of hours to read, the last HP book took me almost two weeks to get more than half of it done. So I gave up. I did cry when Dumbledore died, it was quite sad.

I cried with everyone. specially Dobby. God that killed me.

I cried the most with Dobby, just because he was so good and selfless and the only person he ever really loved was Harry.

Sorry, alice_cullens about spoiling it :( I should remember that not everyone's read it.

xcullenpridex don't worry so much, it's better than having to kill myself over reading the book. I got bored reading it, so don't worry about spoiling anything, k? Dobby was pretty cool!

30, 31 and 34: Cried my eyes out with Hedwig. Had to put the book down for a while coz I was so choked up. Then, as if that wasn't bad enough, Dobby died, which totalled me. Two of my fave characters other than Harry, Ron and Hermione with Dobby being my fave of the two. (Am really irked that he was cut out of the movies following book two. They're just not the same without him. At least we're spared his death in the second movie of book seven though.) Went through a ton of Kleenex. Can't believe JK killed them off of all characters. :( By the time I got to Fred, I was like, "Ok, here goes another one." I expected a Weasley to go, but thought it would be Percy. The 50 who died irked the heck out of me. Was so annoyed about that and couldn't stop thinking about it. Couldn't believe she ended the book without telling us who they were and we still don't know. Gah! So frustrating.

35: You found Harry Potter books boring? What? What? What? *Mutters something about Alice and crackers.*

38: Exactly. *Sniff*
